i got it for free, but if it didn't impress me, i would remain in silence

this set is fabulous. lucky ones like me, who have Ableton Live 7 or 8 put several Zebras in a drum rack and then 'w(h)atcha speakers!' :hihi: . There is a lot of power in the kicks and they're varied: not always the same bobo bumbum techno lolly dummy. The snares are varied as well (not as punchy as the kicks, but a very useful collection of balanced mids). Hats are 'just' closed ones at first sight, but you can change it easily. Some sound like layered samples (bravo!) of a drum-machine. Cymbals are less, but very expressive and thus most impressive for me (look at the synth page, how it's done: a good lesson in sound-design). Percussion is (the other reviewers said it already) another highlight. I've done some conga or bongo like stuff for myself, but these here have the/more bite: they're tight. My highlights are 'click' and 'shaken'.
... and now the crazy stuff: FX and Multi (more than one keyboard-zone or sudden change of sound) are especially for the experimental folks. In FX, there is nothing like the other and no routine of the bored pro with game xxx sound for the yyy time: no, these patches are given the whole love and attention of Mr-Bit to get a unique touch. In Multis he goes another way: he makes variations on themes, which can be varied. Quite good too.
Most useful for the user: the preformance pads are partly or (most of the patches) fully mapped.

Resumen: A very useful, varied and detailed sound-set for the normalos and the freaks: highly recommended and made with passion and love!

c'mon, let's have some demos from you free-loaders, incl the FX patches

OK, alright. I listened to the demo, and it sounds fine, but I figure I wouldn't have much use for these. I don't do that kind of music.

But, after hearing all you folks in here hysterically jabbering about how wonderful they are, I realized I really owed it to myself to step up and buy the set.

I really love Zebra2, and anything that is well done that compliments Zebra is something I will probably buy.

But, truly, it was all you people talking it up that pushed me over the edge.

So much for my sales resistance!

(Thanks for the set, Mr-Bit.)

I've had only a short time to try them, but I see now why people jabber. :)

There is an amazing amount of work put into these, judging by all the modules used in each patch's construction. And they sound deep, in the sense that there is something going on, much more than a simple hit or whack.

Well worth the small price.

Hysterically yours,
