Found this from last year. It's about the Copper Reference thing and includes a view of the back with the various connections, from about 4m07.mevla wrote:The Door Engine is also quite interesting.
Not much details on the Copper Reference interface. It's a stereo preamp, isn't it ? Not a full-fledged audio interface ?

I'm interested in that sampler. As far as I can see, Linux doesn't have a proper sampler plugin with GUI controls for ADSR etc.

I hope they've taken the built in modulator\LFO further

Somebody heard the start of march in one of the videos, but I forget whether that was for T8/Waveform, or the Waverazor synth, and the assumption was they'd come out at the same time. Sorry that's a bit vague, but it's in one of the other posts near the top of the forum

Redux is a sampler.rhydermike wrote:I'm interested in that sampler. As far as I can see, Linux doesn't have a proper sampler plugin with GUI controls for ADSR etc.
Bliss is also a sampler
Both have extensive sample manipulation. I usually use Redux/Renoise as I haven't gotten around Bliss yet. Redux/Renoise is around since quite some time, meaning they ironed out bugs and built on features and functionality.

Sure, but both samplers are not coming with good sound library, I am missing piano sounds in particular. Tried Bliss demo and loading my Logic X sound library was rather bad results, tried Redux loading some SFZ instruments and it was little better, but not superb.mevla wrote:Redux is a sampler.rhydermike wrote:I'm interested in that sampler. They said the new sampler comes with 5 GB sized fine-tuned library. Native libraries always sounds better than trying to load something into generic sampler. The big question is price, if that is too expensive, I might stick with Redux.

Well, 'good' is maybe a personal thing. As you stated - this will come with 5 GB of samples - a good piano-library most often needs at least that alone .... hmmmm ...lzap wrote:

I am also in this (who needs a sampler with a DAW) boat - I have Kontakt & HALion, Pianoteq, VSL, Reason with ...., and lots of alternatives ..... -> with all sympathy, I do not want to install any samples that I do not need & I am not sure I want to pay for any samples I do not need. Not sure I need another sampler .... (For Reason & Ableton Live I understand the advantages of having an integrated sampler, as it can be used in Rewire-Slave-Mode - which a VSTi in case of Live cannot....)

On the other hand, the prices of Tracktion has remained the same since T4 was released in January 2013, and having the size of the user base increased will benefit all of us.

It DAWned on me that you probably mean "DAW engine". You're hearing an intrusive R. Not a new product/feature/technology.mevla wrote:The Door Engine is also quite interesting.

BTW, if they've managed to make a good midi editor, that's great news and reason enough for me to upgrade.
If the new sampler is decent and user friendly, it will probably also see much more use than the old, minimalistic one or 3rd party samplers here.
I'm more neutral when it comes to the mixer - I've never seriously used anything else than Tracktion, and never really missed it - but I'll try it.
Raspberry Pi would be very interesting if I had the time to get stuck in with stuff like that, but alas ...
If they offer a good deal on an upgrade to Waveform+DAW essentials, I'm probably in.

Worth mentioning, as some may have missed it, that the sampler will initially not have all the tools to edit your own samples, but will later.
