For what it's worth, my top request is to be able to remove the 16 samples latency. I know we're supposed to be able to hack the default preset, but that's never worked for me

I just provided the link for people like me that have no ideaBen.juodvalkis wrote:Is there info on that page about 2017 updates? I didn't see any.Kalamata Kid wrote:https://www.u-he.com/cms/uhbik
what Uhbik is. Best that on person provides the link than have
100 each searching for the link.

We have had a complete UI redesign for some time, years actually, but we don't want to publish it unless we can fit in certain new features (more modulation, for starters). We don't want to have to redesign it again with all the follow on work (user manual, tutorials, website...)
"Uhbik Redesign (+ feature update)", "MFM2 redesign" and a few others are staples on our weekly project reports though, so it's always on our radar. It's out-prioritised by "Zebra 2.8 + modern skin + UI features", "Repro poly", "website redesign" and "Tag based browsing" which are currently the most highly prioritised projects. That means, work on it happens on and off, mostly by the graphics designer and by myself, but there isn't a kanban board that a team ploughs through.
In a way, the constant moaning about Repro-1 being "only monophonic" stalls the Uhbik update because part of it was a refactored multi-channel rendering engine that was also needed for audio inputs on synths. But since "poly" flushed "audio input" down the priority list, work on that render engine has been delayed. Which is also tied to the 16 samples latency, as that's the piece of code where it's happening.
Everything is somehow related to everything. Somehow. And slow. But our latest addition to the team should move things forward quicker, I hope.

Some people on here seem to enjoy moaning more than making music but I wonder if those people criticizing Repro-1 for being "only monophonic" really represent the majority. Anyway, looking forward to the UHBIK update, whenever that might beUrs wrote:In a way, the constant moaning about Repro-1 being "only monophonic" stalls the Uhbik update

Sad to read that moaners are prevailing even in U-he case.Urs wrote:In a way, the constant moaning about Repro-1 being "only monophonic" stalls the Uhbik update because part of it was a refactored multi-channel rendering engine that was also needed for audio inputs on synths. I think that MFM2 and Filterscape require so much redesigning, that I wonder if they'd need to be started again from square one. Are they worth the effort?Urs wrote: "MFM2 redesign"
Maybe some of the functionality could be folded into Zebrify 3. Or a brand new patchable effects plugin. But I can't speak for what everyone wants. Is there a way to find that out?

For MFM2 we already have the free Redux skin which is a big improvement. If only so would be so kind to provide an updated FS skin as well...

Nothing happens for Uhbik in 2017. Repro-5 release instead. Next year Zebra 2.8 and Zebra 3. Perhaps Uhbik then, too, who knows.

I personally would much rather prefer updates for Uhbik, drive on Diva and less squelchy filters on ACE than RePro-5.AnX wrote:Yeah, but now you have repro5, and uhe get their xmas bonus.david.beholder wrote:Sad to read that moaners are prevailing even in U-he case.
Win/Win
But RePro-5 should attract alot of sales. I see even some naysayers from GS are in now.
Murderous duck!
