Im Looking for a stand alone max device for mangling audio

I'm looking for something similar that was posted possibly on the Cycling '74 newsletter (could've been a m4l device) - It stepped automatically through every note on a VSTi and then sampled the output to a folder so you could then use all the outputted notes in a sampler. Does this ring a bell with anyone ?
