How can I change the default opening patch to my init. preset? The default sound is cool but after a couple of years of making my own sounds it gets old having to click presets then user then init. I would love to have my preset as the starting place. I hope I am missing something and this is possible to do. Anyone? :)

Find the Hive presets on your hard drive.
The top folder labeled 00User has an INIT patch there.

Thanks for your suggestions...But no matter how or where I save it I still get the same patch on start up. I have spent a bit of time with this prior to posting this question on a few occasions. I've tried it within Hive and through the actual files. One thing that helped me on another synth was to save my init. preset with the name of the default preset which wasn't named default in that case. It doesn't seem to be called default in this case either. I also can't seem to find a name for Hive's default preset. Where the preset name is normally displayed only says Hive1.1.0 and registered to...

EDIT: Ok, got it. Change the name of the patch you want to load up at start to default and place it outside of the User Folder (basically the same thing Chapelle said). Works here.

"Outside"? You might be confusing the issue. This is what you do...

DO THIS: Load the sound you want to be the default, click on 'Local' and save with the name "default". That's it.

And here is how it should look, in case anybody is still having trouble with it:

Thank you everyone for your assistance! I am dumbfounded and slightly embarrassed right now. I would swear that I have tried that several times if not for the fact that it just worked. I can't even imagine what I could have been doing differently to not get the desired result. I was so surprised that it worked that I deleted it and tried to figure out a way to make it not work! Again, thanks for your help and not openly calling me a moron! I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone or on some practical joke T.V. show...

No confusion here Howard . "Local" is the same as outside the User Folder. Perhaps I could have said outside all the sub-folders but I thought the OP was probably putting things in the User Folder. As you know all patches not in a sub-folder show up in the "Local" list. Anyway I've got one of my INIT patches as default so no help needed here. Oh and you guys all have more than one INIT patch right ? :)

I could have sworn it read "outside of the Local folder". Not paying enough attention :-/
