did you unsubscribe? i appreciate the 1-2 freebies in the year but their promos are annoying and just too much........
I would suggest to unsub, the few times they do freebies it is always with a code, and that will be posted all over the place.
Which is what I did. They do have some great stuff (Epica, Perpetuo, Luminoso, Ethera come to mind) and they're worth waiting for until there's a special code.

Manny Marroquin Tone Shaper for $29 today. Worth it? Is it a sound-gooderizer?

I pass on all of the signature stuff that isn't models of specific hardware. They might be great, but the problem with "secret ingredients" is that you can't really learn anything systematic from it with respect to mixing and mastering. Well, you can learn that some particular tool changes sound in a particular way, but for me, that's not that useful.

But, yes, it's a sound-gooderizer. It seems to be some sort of simplified multiband compressor.

YMMV.

Thanks. I've already decided to pass since I picked up J37 last week and Big Fish's Grindhouse yesterday. 2017 GAS off to a good start. :help:

How is it with lending name to a plug like Manny M does:

Does he receive a royalty per plug sold, or has he sold the naming right for a fixed sum?

I don't know, but I don't like any of the secret sauce makes it great because <insert big name here> says so plugins.

They all have shitty interfaces and many have smarmy promo videos. The models of actual hardware that the names like are better, e.g., the Kramer tape and the Pugteq, etc.

The one or two things that I do have like that were super cheap and/or free, e.g., character, and Steven Slate's analogizer/saturator thing.

Man, that TrueKeys deal at AudioPluginDeals is a no-brainer if there every was one.

Yeah, I don't know, I'm swimming in pianos these days. I think that I have enough. I'll get four or five more when I eventually upgrade komplete.

I guess there is only one thing Fleer likes better than Adaptiverb, and that is Pianos :D

Thanks for the Komplete 12 reminder.
But if there was a buy one for $33 I would likely be a buyer.

I've used the CLA vocal one. To me, it is like a multi plugin with a preset. The CLA has a reverb/delay/compressor/stereo mix - there may be some EQ in it as well - though it gives them fancy names for the settings. It is a good starting place. And, since they came with the bundle I have, I try to use them. But yeah, you can probably get the same sounds using a few plugins together that you already have.

It's definitely worth $29. It's a pretty unique plugin, there's not much else like it. The Marroquin Reverb, Delay, Triple D, and EQ are also cool. If I was going to buy any of the Signature Bundles, it'd be the Marroquin and/or Greg Wells.
