I don't know, but I don't like any of the secret sauce makes it great because <insert big name here> says so plugins.

They all have shitty interfaces and many have smarmy promo videos. The models of actual hardware that the names like are better, e.g., the Kramer tape and the Pugteq, etc.

The one or two things that I do have like that were super cheap and/or free, e.g., character, and Steven Slate's analogizer/saturator thing.
I've used the CLA vocal one. To me, it is like a multi plugin with a preset. The CLA has a reverb/delay/compressor/stereo mix - there may be some EQ in it as well - though it gives them fancy names for the settings. It is a good starting place. And, since they came with the bundle I have, I try to use them. But yeah, you can probably get the same sounds using a few plugins together that you already have.
I get the concept, I'm just not interested in them for the most part. Maybe there's EQ, maybe not, that's the part I find annoying. I like to come at mixing from a somewhat principled place.

I'm not saying that it's not good, but, I pretty much have a "policy" and I don't buy those kinds of things unless the price is really stupid, like $20 for the entire collection, then maybe, and I do mean maybe.

You (well, I, at least) can't have everything so a few policies help me to focus on the things that move me forward. I look for software that is either a good model of well known hardware or otherwise reasonably well described technology. That way when I learn how to use it that knowledge can be applied elsewhere.

Well, I like those CLA Signature plugins so much I even got them twice (but now selling one bundle of them, though). They just give instant fulfillment. The CLA Vocal and CLA Unplugged are my favorites, but others love CLA Guitar, CLA Drums and CLA Bass. There's even a CLA Effects for special stuff. Whatever tickles your fancy.

The Marroquin plugins are pretty straight forward.

It's the opposite with the Greg Wells plugins, they're all over the place. They inject noise all kinds of other "vibe" that you have little control over. I still think they sound good but you'd hate them.

Not enough though. I looked at the manual for the tone shaper and, as far as I can tell, it's a broadband compressor followed by a crossover EQ then another compressor. So, in essence, it's a multiband compressor with very little control over the dynamics.

I mean, I'm sure that I'd use it from time to time. It's just not enough for me to care. I did a huge upgrade to all of my tools this year. Now I'm back into "meh, I don't need it" mode. I'm waiting on a great sale on adaptiverb and for Waves to put a couple of modeling plugins on sale that I want so I can burn up my coupon, then I'm going to be done until Komplete goes on sale or Komplete 12 comes out, whichever comes first.

Yeah, I'm not at all interested in that. Even sound-gooderizers have to be principled for me. I'm ok with things like tape sims, console sims, etc.

Yes, those and the "One Knob" ones don't seem to do too much for me. At least right now. With the CLA there are a few things to control and I can hear a change for the better. Though really? I sometimes think it just makes it louder.

Three of the best grand pianos for $99. Ordered and downloading !
Is it separate products/SN's? I am really interested in the Italian, but I have other Steinway D's and German pianos that are just as good. So I am wondering if they are separate I could sell the numbers before registering them.

I have way too many pianos. But that is my weakness......

Ah well. And then I will have to get a three pedal sustain for my keyboard. Because how else can I use the Una Corda option. :borg:

Sigh.
