Orbit you were sharing links before, I'm sure you can find another self-help site to learn about being an adult, and not egging people on.Orbit-50 wrote:Wisdom. Ok, I'll bite 'cause I got a few moments, but only once, because I don't want to hear your "Bitwig Hurt My Butt" song for the thousandth time anymore. pdxindy is a long standing very active member here as many others. You are not. This is a community, not a spittoon for self proclaimed "Rebel Leader Of The Bitwig Malcontents" (such as you claim to be) to spew bile and negativity over and over again for pages and pages, for days upon end. It's obvious, that this has become a hobby for you. One might even say a therapeutic endeavor if you will. You've had your say, but unfortunately, you seem to be only able to say one thing. We get it, you, and a few others have developed psychological damage from this whole Bitwig thing and don't know what to do, so you do this. pdxindy on the other hand, says different things across different threads and helps people out when he can. You do not. He joins conversations. He does not smother them with hostility towards others that are not part of their personal campaign of negativity. You do. So if you want to spend the rest of your days self destructing over Bitwig Studio, then be my guest. I find it hilarious, because I could could think of a thousand causes that are much more worth fighting for. Taking up arms over Bitwig Studio's policies is not one of them. Good luck rebel soldier. Also, good luck to your gang of Bitwig forum insurgents, and my sincere condolences go out to those who were lost in battle of Bitwig as well!humanbeingbeing wrote:Orbit you were sharing links before, I'm sure you can find another self-help site to learn about being an adult, and not egging people on.Orbit-50 wrote:Wisdom. honored you consider me to be the self proclaimed(huh?) rebel leader... what a rebel I am.. but I speak for me, the rest of you are on your own--- I'm not part of the 'community' I'm just posting on the official bitwig forum...Orbit-50 wrote:self proclaimed "Rebel Leader Of The Bitwig Malcontents" (such as you claim to be)

Sure, you make your best assessment of that. Then act from it. Sometimes it works out how one wants and sometimes it doesn't.polishbroadcast wrote:I understand the point you are making, and agree you should pick software based on the functionality, but one important distinction is the idea of long-term commitment. If you are going to build your work in an application it's most often proprietary, especially with DAWs. So "loyalty" is a practicality as much as it is artistic. You want to know that something is going to work for the next year (or more) when you commit to that platform/system/paradigm. At least that's how I see it. I have ~8 years of projects in Logic and moving them over is a PITA. Having some general idea of where Bitwig is headed is a nice thing to know if we are going to be together for awhile.pdxindy wrote:You may look at commercial choices in personal terms and think of it in terms of loyalty and such, but that is your lens, not mine.
Bitwig is just a product to buy or not, and I'm not 'loyal' to anything abstract like that. Where I have loyalties, it is to real people in my daily life.
I try/buy software all the time that I simply uninstall cause it did not work for me. It is how things are. It is not a big affront, I was not 'abused' by the software makers and so on.
In this case, if you want to keep a constant ability to receive the latest updates, it is going to cost $169 per year.
Over time, Bitwig has also named various features they intend to add. For example, time signature changes are on the to do list. We don't know when or in what order.

Isn't it safe to assume all these facts? I mean surely this all goes without saying. These arent arguments for or against the license they're just the basic facts, which we already know.pdxindy wrote: Sure, you make your best assessment of that. Then act from it. Maybe I wrongly assumed that this conversation was about personal opinion of the license agreement???... I think most people here gathered the facts of the $169 dollar annual agreement before they even clicked into this thread.
