MuDrum sources of change in sound?

I was examining the MuDrum instrument more closely this evening. It looks very flexible. Some sample-based drum VSTs use different samples for different velocities. Is that possible with MuDrum? I see there are two samples per pad, but I don't see a way to shift from one to the other based on velocity. Is there? I'm sure the racks and element #3 (MUX) provide plenty of other ways to add velocity-based changes (e.g. filters).

I expect (perhaps incorrectly) the sound of a vibrating object (like a drum or metal bar) to be different when it is resting and then struck versus when it is already vibrating and then struck again. Is there a way to simulate this?

In the MuDrum each of both sample layers has a "VS" = Velocity Sense parameter. If you set the first to 100% and the second to -100% you get a crossfade.

Thank you. I'll try that with a soft hit and a loud hit and see how it sounds!
