I love those 16 included presets for the keyboard, very Casio MT-40'ish :D

But unlike Reason, it actually can load VSTs ? :?

You need to add goods to your basket at least valued at $149 to be able to use it ;)
How do folks like the adagio or anthology strings? I've heard mixed reviews about adagio and not much of anything regarding anthology. I have a few quality eastwest libraries already, so something with tons of character might be nice to layer...

I picked up the Adagietto which I thought was good value in the long running sale and although it's very limited in articulations it covers a lot of ground. If you like their overall sound and are pretty well covered by EWSO you could still select some good value instruments from Adagio or Agitato. I haven't looked into Anthology yet. There is plenty of discussion over at vi-control forums but it's like talking about synths over here, every possible opinion is present but the violas are generally praised IIRC. Your best bet is to try out the free violin try-pack (I wish all Kontakt devs would do similar) and then watch the videos for each pack to see if you would find it useful.

Eric, something nice coming in February in sales?

Post

Well, I just pulled the trigger on the True Keys. I have the EWQL Platinum Pianos that I got during the "going green" sales. Mainly that was what was stopping me. They are supposed to be better pianos that True Keys. i didn't see the need for more pianos that I don't use because they are too much trouble to load. But I did a bit of a piano shoot out with some of my pianos and the EWQL ones were so quiet in comparison. Even when I put the velocity up. At least compared to my Addictive Keys Studio Grand.

Hopefully the True Keys will work better.

I've was also looking at the 8Dio sale. They don't seem to offer anything different from the SonoKinetic libraries I picked up during the holiday sales. Well, one more day to think about it....

Absolutely right on that True Keys offer. No-Weiner if there ever was one. I consider their American (Steinway D) one of the best. And then there's una corda. Fills the heart.

Actually in the videos/soundplayer samples, I loved the Fazioli. I have so many already that sound like the American and German but no Faziolis. Of course, when I try it on my computer with what I'm working on, it all may change.

FXpansion has odd sales approaches. Their expansions for BFD 3 and Geist 2 go on sale fairly often and at good price reductions but they don't seem to reduce their prices on their upgrades. Perhaps I've missed some promotion but i don't recall seeing them discounted. I do own Geist 2 because I was one of their beta testers but a BFD 3 upgrade remains out of reach for now.

Not sure if that ever goes on sale. I had been waiting on that forever and finally decided to purchase from JRR with a coupon.

Probably should have gotten it when it was on sale. I did some of the videos on it but I was buying Black Friday stuff then. :wheee:
