Hiya,
I'm trying to use kompakt multis but I'm not having very much luck; I want one instance of the plugin to receive midi from several tracks; and I think each track has to send on a different channel. I think I need to use a rack filter to do it, but how rack filters work is less than obvious, so I'm not sure.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Chris.

I know nothing but until an expert arrives...
Create a rack. Slap a Kompakt on it. Create additional outputs as required (stereo ones have 2) link em up with komakts outputs. Put the rack on a new track for each output and choose outputs from the properies page at bottom. So if you creted "L2" and "R2" as out puts you could choose them. Then get all your midi tracks to send output to one of the tracks with your rack on it?
I'm really just learning out loud here so I may be well off. A qualified racker will be along shortly!

Nah talking shite. You just put the rack on all your midi tracks then adjust the outputs on each.

Doing that doesn't work because the only way to get all the instruments to sound is to set them to midi omni (all channels), but the result is that when you hit play, all tracks trigger all instruments; what a mess!
Still haven't figured this out... Could do with a channel transpose filter...
Chris.

you can set the midi channel for clips, but not tracks (why not? I don't know). So select all the clips in a track and set it to whatever channel you want. Then set up your midi channels in Kompakt to match this.
Sorry, I was a little confused by the question - hope that made sense

To use Kompakt multi, I create a track for each instruments i want to use, put Kompakt on the firt one, then set the output of each other track to that fisrt one.
FInally, on each track, I set all midi clips to one specific channel to match the channels I choose for each instruments in the multi.
