as it'S on sale and i always peeped on the best service products im kindly tempted, but with Omnisphere, some Heavyocity libraries etc. i dunno if it would be only a waste of money or if it's something unique?

e.g. pads i have with omnisphere and straight analogue/subtractive vsts enough. soundscapes with birds i can create myself. grooves, i can load up some loops from other libraries.

Hi Caine123,

I have taken the actual deal on vstbuzz cause I was looking for this kind of stuff (Eduardo Talironte) for years but it was never really on sale on bestservice (only 10 or 20 % sometimes) not even in the "usual" sales dates/times. For me it was not really important which one (had some demos from different ones from the times where you could get these demos, thats long gone sadly) though Forest kingdom II (if you should include the upgrade, II is a quantum jump in evry case) is really a great one and not so "specialised" in the sounds (useable in more cases) like desert wind for example.

For me this stuff is absolutely unique, you can forget all other kontaktlibraries (zero-g, bigfish etc.) in this area in comparison. The few demos I had before from the libraries from Eduardo Talironte are better then all this together. Cant say nothing about Omnisphere or Heavyocity in comparison though.

The uniqueness - for me - lies in the composition of "ready to use" soundscapes which are just "perfect". I dont know your work but I would just assume that if you make a pad and a bird and bring them together it might not sound exactly like a soundscape from Eduardo Talironte with a bird in it :hihi: . Otherwise you should starting and selling this stuff :D .

I am doing lot of pads/soundscape experiments (only as hobby in spare time but just fascinating from soundscapes) with not only cheap kontakt libraries in this environment, just lately with freestyle mixing some of them together, yes, nice, but the difference is just: the man who made it :hihi:

Apart from this there are lots of unique wind instruments which are really playable and better then a lot of specialised wind libraries I know. Instruments have nothing to do with "bread and butter", plucks for example are "only" two harps but they are just THE harps I will ever need.

A lot of ready-to-go rhythms for this kind of stuff, multi-midi scenes you can use as starting point.

@tatanka: Eduardo's family name is Tarilonte…

I have a number of instrument and voice libraries by Eduardo Tarilonte and they all have his special, playability 'quality' stamp. My latest one is his 'Kwaya', an East African voice ensemble that is superb. Eduardo's obsession with quality is apparent from the fact that the entire recording session with the Ugandan artists had to be redone from scratch, once he started to edit the material. The initial session proved not good enough, so the artists had to be brought back to Spain for another complete recording session (in another studio…).

I'm not that much into soundscapes per se, but if they have the Tarilonte stamp, I'm certain that they're at the top in their genre.

If it were easy, anybody could do it!

Spitfire31: sorry for mixing up the name again :dog:
Happes evrytime I try to search for (and get no results then  )

But I can only agree in case of quality of sound :D

I wouldn't buy Forest Kingdom for the pads or the loops, if you already have other stuff like Omnisphere.
Get it only, if you need the playable instruments - check the walktrough youtube videos.

It's very different to Omnisphere really. Very much more about sampled real sounds mixed with beautiful fantasy.

It's a unique product.

How much use is it?

Well who knows, depends on how much use YOU find for it.

It needs Engine 2 to run.

Engine 2 is free, but some users might find it annoying having to install yet another VST to be able to use a product.

Note also that Forest Kingdom I (released 2011) has been superceded by Forest Kingdom II, so the product that is on sale is not the latest version of it.

Post

That's right, I personally drew the line at 200 plugins. Sorry, Engine 2, not One MORE! :P

Seriously, I have his ERA library, and if that's anything to go by, the quality and playability is astounding. But, you know, if you're only considering it now that it's on sale, maybe you don't really need it (as opposed to: "oh, I've been wanting it for ages, and LOOK: now it's on SALE!!").

DO you REALLY need poncy elven music instruments in your music?

As I have already wrote in previous post: I would absolutely recommend if you are really interested in this stuff then use this deal to buy Forest Kingdom I with the reduced upgrade to II included, thats 141,99 € then compared to 233 € which was the cheapest I have seen on the net before.

Installation was a little complicated cause not really thought to the end for the update buy from vstbuzz (maybe its fixed now) cause you only have to download Forest Kingdom II, it includes all stuff from I (in better quality), but there was no serial for II I downloaded both (8 GB for the waste basket....).

thanks :)! i was looking for an example, i dont do mystic fairy music but i thought for nice black metal stuff and interludes e.g. here 4min

it would maybe fit the genre?

I think those who wanted this lib already have bought it at full price, putting it to good use.

I have always been a fan, but being a hobbyist, it is priced over my budget, even at half price.

I have found similar products for Kontakt much more keenly priced, that I have went for instead.

It is vast. And I love it. I noticed that the deal is not just for Forest Kingdom I. You can change the product to Forest Kingdom II and get that for another $50. That is half the price of the upgrade cost or overall 50% off of FKII.

While I do agree with Sample Library Review that it is niche, I find use for it in MANY projects that I work on, not just fantasy soundtrack.

Post

I find Forest Kingdom well done and interesting.
It seems mostly useful for film projects, maybe newage.

A lot of Tari's instruments I buy for the soundscapes alone. The other instruments are just a bonus addon. ;)

Realistically, Tari makes some of the best libraries I've ever used and have no regrets buying any of them. My only real gripe is with Engine player. Don't get me wrong, it works well enough but I hate the interface. He stated before that a lot of the scripting for his Engine based plugins can't be done in others like Kontakt because it's far too complex. I have to wonder if that is still true now with Falcon out.

Tarilonte was interviewed by KVR a couple of months back
