Diva multicore adds noise

Hello,

Using the Oxide patchset on Linux, Diva 4408, with the 'Leads/SY Unbroken' patch, turning on the multicore option will add a high-pitched sizzle. The sizzle happens after a few notes are played and once heard, remains there for each note. Switching off multicore does not produce this noise. The output level was low.

Is this something to be expected due to the design of some patches, in which case it would be preferrable to disable the multicore option ?

Hi Mevla,

Please can you tell me your sample rate, your buffer size, and diva's quality settings?
Also could you record some audio with the sizzle please?

Many thanks,
Alex

I tried this patch and here is what I found:
- When using mono we can get rid of the envelop clicks while playing successive notes, but once all the enveloppes are reset, then the next note will click
- When using poly it clicks even more because the next note is sent to an unused envelopper which had more time to reset its enveloppes...

So I wonder if in your post you did not say multi-core instead of polyphonic?

Alex.

Hi Alex,

It's not about the clicks. Clicks I assume are part of the sound to a certain extent. It is a high pitched sizzle eg. a continuous noise, that needs a few notes to be played in order to start happening. I played for instance a single C3 at 1/4 note at 120 BPM and it takes 4-5 of them before it happens. Once it manifest itself, it stays there. As I mentioned, the audio output was low. I wonder if at a higher gain it will still be heard as much.

In any case I will redo and take notes, and I will record. Hopefully it will be present in the recording. Will let you know soon. thanks.

Hi Alex,

Trying several things I've come to the conclusion that this artifact, which is clearly heard, is part of the speaker system. It cannot be heard using headphones. Thanks for your prompt reply and action !

Tschüß.
