Despite my objections to the bizarre licensing model, I went ahead and bought v1 and will go for the free upgrade. Bitwig is one of the few DAW developers who doesn't treat Windows like a 2nd class citizen. There is low latency built in driver support (ideal for portable studios), hdpi scaling support, usable touch support and no dongle required. Hell with it
I'm on-board.

It doesn't really matter who you are, you post is nonsense and abrupt. Buy V1 you get V2 free and all the updates free for a year...after that you don't have to subscribe ever again until you want an update...you own the software (as much as anyone owns software, we all rent/licence it really), its just the updates after a year you pay for (pretty much the same with all software that has paid updates regular 0.5, 1, 1.5....) you can always skip a year or 3 to keep the cost down like I do with Komplete....smashsystem wrote:Well, I get that it might looks strange because it's my first post here. But really, it's my first KVR account ever. How can I proof I'm not the one you guys thinking I am?SLiC wrote:
If you can't convince people to agree with you, just create new accounts and agree with your self!
It really is silly that anyone would just 'BYE' a forum/software when they have not even tried the V2 beta/demo yet (it isn't even out)....not a great first post.

It isn't the same as Komplete.
With Komplete you get free updates and bug fixes for all included products for ever even if you don't purchase the next version of Komplete. This only changes if there is a major update say Reaktor 5 to 6.

It's not, because you get updates for the life cycle of each plugin. I have Komplete 10 and can still individually update each instrument that is in both 10 and 11. No time limit. It would only be the same if NI didn't let you upgrade your instruments and plugins after 1 year.
Komplete works like any other traditional update. You have them from that point on. After a major version release you then pay for the upgrade for new features and new instruments. But as Kontakt 5 is 5 1/2 years old. That's 5.5 years of updates at a one time fee...
Unless you want newer instruments and sample libraries they bundle wth newer Komplete versions you pay for it once until a new version number comes out.

Christ I hate the way this forum works sometimes. Editing the previous comment caused a double post.dnbhallifax wrote:BobDog wrote:It isn't the same as Komplete.

Loopmasters has 30% off, even upgrades. I could have saved $50.

It's that new license. Don't like the feel of it. Wish they'd retract. Would have loved to keep Bitwig next to Logic but license models are not my thing.pekbro wrote:Care to elaborate? to see how they do with it. If I can get a deal on it anyway (which I did -$50)
Well see how they do "value wise", Ive already an outdated sub on Sonar thats broken
with some of the plug-ins I use. No way to get it fixed without buying back in.
No thanks...

Heh. Yeah in the Reddit thread I said maybe they could take that $50 and fix the 3 year old MIDI import bug.WXLF wrote:just think of it as buying the bitwig devs lunch for the daypolishbroadcast wrote:Loopmasters has 30% off, even upgrades. I could have saved $50.![]()
