- Yes, I'm running the beta already.
- As I wrote, the circle of testers will be increased in steps.
- No, so far I did not read a go for screenshots and videos.
- Since version 2.0 was announced, Alpha and now Beta testers were allowed to talk about it freely, before that, we were under an NDA to keep it quiet. A lot of stuff has already been mentioned in one of the many threads.
It will come to everybody in due time, like I wrote above, having too many testers right away is contraproductive, the team has to be able to digest the feedback.

Cheers,

Tom

Is there a freeze feature? :O

Polarity is making some tunes in Bitwig 2 Beta 1 right now

Awesome to hear. Sounds like they might actually hit that Feb 28th date.

On a side note, I've watched a few videos recently (polarity being one of them) where the user simply hovers over the fader value to change them. What kind of controller are they using for this? I didn't think Bitwig had mousewheel support so it must be something else.

Volker just confirmed that it's now okay to post images and videos :-)

No.

IMHO, the DAW is pretty stable right now. The UI improvements feel though out and tight.

The polysynth, there is this feedback/drive thing that to me really shows how powerful the modular DSP is now. :)

The modulators, well eh, screenshots don't do them justice, I can see where Bitwig is going with these and to me it looks like they are a new type of "preset" if you know what I mean, knock knock knocking on futures door.

The graphical frequencies on the EQ, Reverb, Phaser, etc on my machine they are really responsive.

Hmm I thought premiere badge owners would be included in the first beta. Oh well.

I'm happy to wait until a few more bugs have been squashed. :)

What's a few days?

Thanks to the current Alpha and BETA testers for doing all the hard work for the rest of us.

I don't mind waiting either - I just wonder if 25 days is enough time to fix issues that may will crop up when they open it up to a wider audience. Maybe the alpha group is large enough?

They will open up the beta for a group of badge holders early next week. Right now just the alpha testers are testing it (like polarity).

I thought this is very nice.

Ok, I liked the frequency on the polysynth, created one macro ( a modulator now), set it to 1/4 value span of the cutoff and then created a preset page and mapped that macro to a controller bank.

All you do is create the page, press the "speaker" icon, it blinks then touch the macro and now it's mapped. Makes it really easy to get deep settings right on the same controller page.

Did the playmarker got some attention?
I mean that when drop it at bar-64 for instance it stays there? No matter if i click another clip? (in arranger)
(now it goes to beginning of clip you click one in arranger, can be handy, but not that often here)

Thanx teoti for the pic... :tu:

No, still resets at the start of a clip if you select it.

Can you disable the envelope follower on Audio MOD? If not, is there a new way of modulating a parameter at audio rate?

Post

Can any of the beta testers share any useful screenshots or short vids of their experience with 2.0? As to my understanding sharing content from 2.0 is now allowed as Tom mentioned above in the thread.

I watched some of palarity's live stream but 3 hours video is impossible to follow and learn alot from it.
