Karnivool is famous (among bass players, at least) for their brutal, growling bass tone:
I have tried to dial in this tone, using Destructor on virtual basses such as MODO Bass or Shreddage Bass, but with no luck so far. My tone is either too noisy (if I increase the drive), or not aggressive enough (if I *don't* increase the drive) or too boomy and tubby.
There are several threads in other internet forums on how to get Karnivool's bass tone, using real bass guitars, pedals and amps, but none with advice that could help me with a plugin such as Destructor.
Any advice or presets for getting this (exact) bass tone would be much appreciated.
EDIT: I think the underlying question is: How does one use Destructor to add lots of grit and drive/distortion to a bass tone, without adding high-frequency noise?

With a lot of drive, you may just want to remove higher frequencies with the post filter, by reducing the value of the tone or treble settings in "easy" mode or draw a steeper low pass curve in edit mode.
