I have T6, last version issued (6.3.1).
Dedicated DAW Desktop not connected to Internet
Odd behavior when rendering a song ("edit") to mp3 or .wav file.
The keystrokes Export\Render to File\ gives us the Render Dialog Box.
Under File Name the name of the edit populates that field by default, eg "D:\ Tracktion Recordings\ Song Number 12 Edit 1"
I want to create the mp3 or wav file in another folder, eg,
"C:\001Outgoing to Collaborators"
Problem: Regardless of whether I use the blue button in the Render dialog box to open the navigation pane to navigate to the "C:\001Outgoing to Collaborators" folder, or whether I type in "C:\001Outgoing to Collaborators\The Song in 12/8 Time" in the File Name field in the Render Box it stubbornly reverts to "D:\ Tracktion Recordings\ Song Number 12 Edit 1"
Why can I not choose where I want the rendered file created and why cannot I name it what I want to name it?
I rebooted and reinstalled T6 -- no change.
I have this version of T6 installed on a laptop and it properly performs as expected.

I wanted to add that I tried different names for the file to be created and made certain to not use any prohibited signs or symbols, in fact I used all letters; and I also tried different folder destinations

I just tried it in T6 on W10, clicked the 3 dots, chose Browse, went to a folder and put a different name in, and it worked as required.
I overwrote the File name in the Select The File To Use dialogue box and didn't try to overwrite the name in the Render dialogue box.

[W10-64, T5/6/7/W8/9/10/11/12/13, 32(to W8)&64 all, Spike],[W7-32, T5/6/7/W8, Gina16] everything underused.

Yes, that had always been my standard procedure as well.
Normally when something like this happens in this or other applications it is because one did not place the focus of the cursor on the target folder AND click to open the target folder. Failing to "set" the target folder causes the identical problem I am having, however I AM setting the target folder.
The other reason something like this happens is if one uses a forbidden character or symbol. I ruled that out.
I checked in Settings (general behavior) and Options if there was a switch to switch, but no luck.
Gremlins, I tell you -- gremlins!
