Yet again Tracktion has decided it doesn't want to play nicely with DR008

All I get is sound from the left channel only, no racks involved, nothing loaded but one instance of DR008. It worked fine yesterday

Even the old 'fix' of removing Tracktion/DR008/Slicy/Fill-in Drummer completely and reinstalling hasn't worked this time, so f#ck it, enough is enough, Tracktion has been uninstalled and it's not going back any time soon.

. I tryed DR008 with Cubase SX and Tracktion and EXT and I couldnt get the filter in the Ultra Sampler to work without smashing my CPU to 100%. So I uninstalled Dr008 and stuck with Battery. Anyways, Good luck.

I've had this same feeling with just about every host out there. I haven't given Tracktion a fair shake myself, but my heart goes out to ya.

I have two songs in another host that won't open anymore, and it enrages me when I think about the time I put into those pieces.

I only have this grief with Tracktion, FLS and Cubase 5.1 are fine, so whatever the problem is, it's with Tracktion. What I can't understand is why it keeps happening, it worked fine yesterday and nothing has been changed since...........

It was a ballache having to completely remove all trace of Tracktion/DR008/Slicy/Fill-in Drummer but at least after reinstalling, they worked. Not this time tho' and I won't be in any rush to try again.

youre not the only one with dr008 / tracktion issues ian ... ive got one too but its worked around pretty easy ...

... often when loading an edit that uses dr008 i get a 'plugin failed to load' kind of message and the dr008 filter appears with one of those little yellow exclamation marks on it ...

... when that happens i just make sure that i copy dr008 to an empty track - this copy instance always seems to load ok even if the original doesnt - and then copy this to the drum track after deleting the troubled instance

Sorry to hear about your problem Ian. I have been using Dr008 with Slicy and Fillin drummers in Tracktion, FLs, Sonar and Live 4 without a problem. Are you sure that you have only one installed copy of the version 1.20 dll?

I, too feel for you. However, my DR-008 runs absolutely flawless with my Tracktion. And yes, I use Slicy and Fill-In Drummer every day. I've never had a crash with Tracktion at all, from this or any other, and it's always loaded. So I'm curious what is causing your problem. Have you checked with Jules or posted in the VST incompatability thread? Maybe neither will work. But if it works fine for me and others, but not for a few, it makes me think it must be a setting or something on your computer that makes Tracktion and DR-008 not like each other. Hay KoolKeys, Do you use the filter in the ultra sampler without any problems? Whenever I activate it my CPU jumps to 100. Just curious.

I have never used the Ultrasampler filter but I with have look. What is it purpose btw?

Most of what I do is with live kits, but for some interesting things, I do use the different modules, probably all of them at one point or another. But let me go and try right now to do this. I'll post back in a few minutes(more if I get the same problem.) See ya in a few.

Well the ultra sampler has a few more filters and editing options than the regular sampler. I've never got to use it much myself cuz when I turn on the filter its lights out for my CPU. Thanks for checking.

I just checked and turned everything on, then off, then one at a time on and off, and many different combinations, turned knobs in all combinations, and only saw the CPU meter move once. I have a 1.3ghz Pentium Celeron with only 320MB of RAM. But I had no problems at all. If you want me to try anything else out, let me know. I hope you can fix your problem.

. I have a 2.8ghz PIV with 1.5gigs RDram. DR008 hates my computer

! I think I'm the only one with this problem. Oh well, I guess I'll stay with Battery until DR008 2.0

i use dr 8 with Traktion and everything works great. filters are working ok with no cpu drainage and all.sound from both outputs and slicy is working great asd well

this sounds like some user specific issues.

I can't wait until Drum Nine comes out either(or DR-008 2 as you said

) I've used so much of DR-008 that it's paid for itself many times over. I just hope the upgrade price isn't as steep as BFD or the like. I'm not a millionaire, and can't afford that.
