Hi,
Tracktion has been my favourite host for months and I never thought of changing it because I didn't see any limits, however, now...
I bought RealGuitar 1.5 expecting to be able to use the MIDI patterns that come along with it. So I'm using RealGuitar with Tracktion, however when it comes to using those patterns...the manual says I need to create 2 MIDI tracks and route their output to RealGuitar...that's where I fail already..I can't route any output to a VST plugin in Tracktion! I'm sure it's not the program but me who is just too stupid to use it correctly so...could anyone give me an explanation on how to use the RealGuitar patterns with Tracktion?
Thanks,
Chris

Will a rack not do it?

Or put Real Guitar on track 1, your midi files on tracks 2 & 3 and route those tracks to track 1?

I have Real Guitar also, but don't have the pattern libraries, so I apolagize if I'm stating the obvious. But can't you just import the MIDI file into a track that has Real Guitar on it? I mean, just put RG on a track, then put the MIDI file into the same track. It's just as if you were playing it in yourself.
Maybe you've tried this, but it should work. Maybe you just mis-read the instructions a bit or something.
Cheers!

Well yes, I tried that of course. But it doesn't really work, as importing a midi file even gives me a bunch of even different midi pattern tracks, so they all get spread on the other tracks and, well, I don't quite understand it.
But thanks for the suggestion nonetheless

Since I don't have the libraries, I apolagize for my ignorance. But does each MIDI file have more than one pattern? Or is each pattern split into it's own file?
I would think that Musiclab would make these easy to use. My only guess is what I stated above, that the libraries are all in one file and on different tracks. If this is the case, then you will just have to take each pattern and copy and paste into your file as needed.
Have you tried this with the EXT demo? Or maybe with Computer Muzy's, to see if it's always that way? Good luck!

Could this be caused by the format of the midi files?
I know that when you import/export one type it's all on
the same trak, but another breaks into a seperate track
for each (usually a handy feature for drum files).
Just an idea about why it's not importing onto one track.
