Any news on the update ? Looking forward to using the new skins for a bit of fresh inspiration. :D

I was wondering the same. New skins are obviously a must have ASAP. 8)

I'm looking forward to the new extra high quality mode!

Extra high quality? Where did you get that information?

Oh, great!

Beta 3.029 doesn't seem to include the extra high quality mode, and the skins..

Post

I seem to remember seeing Lennard post about a month or so ago that the update would be released in "a month or so" (can't find the post now).

So I just thought I would see if there was any news on the release date. Obviously Lennard doesn't want to commit to any date and I don't blame him.....so we wait. :)

I am just very impressed by the screenshots of the new skins and want to see them in action but a "high quality" mode (or any addition) would be welcome as well. Although I don't think there is anything at all wrong with Sylenth 1's current quality. :)

Sylenth1 v3.029 includes the AAX beta version, which took more work than expected, so the v3.030 update is delayed a bit.

Scroll down the bottom.
Someone from KVR posted this on our board, so I can't edit this. A high quality mode is on the to-do list but will not be included in v3.030 yet.

What does the high quality refer to? Zero-delay feedback filters?
I don't really understand why a new quality mode is the number one priority (I could think of a dozen things that would make more sense). Makes you wonder what is wrong with the current quality...

He just said it's "on the to-do list" not on top of the list.

That's the problem, we can all think of features that we want more than others. What you and I think should be on the top of the to-do list might not even be on someone elses list at all.....

You have two measuring devices that can tell you if there is anything wrong with the current quality. They are called "ears". :hihi:

Like I said above I don't hear anything wrong with Sylenth's current quality. It has a distinctive character that I find quite pleasing.

"High Quality" could be anything from higher oversampling to new filter, effects, etc code. I'll trust the judgment of Lennard who created Sylenth's current quality and character that any future versions will be even more appealing.

Even if the new version "only" contains the new skins I'd be happy. Again nothing wrong with the current default skin but some fresh visuals will be welcome....... :hyper:

I'm curious too though. What is that high quality mode about? :)

Hope I didn't stir up any controversy, that wasn't my intent. Sylenth1 already sounds fantastic, so a higher quality setting is just icing on the cake -- maybe a filter drive that produces less aliasing when using lots of resonance on high notes, that sort of relatively marginal thing.

And I continue to applaud Lennard's restraint in implementing feature requests. As I think I mentioned in another thread, design by committee always fails. Sure, I've got my own pet feature request (*cough* polyphonic lfo's *cough*), but really, what do I know, I'm not a successful synth developer. I trust Lennard's judgment above all.

Listening to what your customers or potential customers want never fails........

Of course not every feature request can be added so we simply wait to see what the future of Sylenth 1 holds.

Message boards are chock full of vocal minorities -- some random guy on the internet might scream about feature X when a thousand offline users wouldn't care about it, or perhaps would be turned off from it.

Listening to your customers as a whole? Sure, great idea. But taking any one given customer too seriously? Not so much.

If my idea is actually stupid I fully hope Lennard ignores it. And I am quite capable of having stupid ideas.

It's basically an option for more oversampling (and running some calculation in extra high precision) to reduce aliasing artifacts at the cost of using more CPU power. Nothing wrong with the current quality..

Exactly. I said it's NOT going to be included in v3.03 yet, it's definitely not top priority.
