I already have Stereo Spread but since Generator is on sale was wondering if it's just the little brother of spread or does anything Spread can't do?

Well i use them for different tasks.
MStereoSpread is for width control of an existing stereo signal.
MStereoGenerator is for creating stereo from a mono signal.

jmg8, not correct. MStereoProcessor is for controlling stereo signal. Both MStereoSpread and MStereoGenerator are artificial stereo processors, but very different ones. In my opinion, MStereoGenerator sounds more natural, so it is useful more for ambient performances, MStereoSpread is for contemporary stuff, since it doesn't introduce any ambience or anything. I use MStereoSpread personally. Anyways more info here:

I would rather say it makes or generates stereo out of mono.
Think about us who have purchased the MTotalBundle - in that long line of plugins (many will seldom be used and quite a few overlap each other), you'll easily been mislead by a name such as MStereoSpread.
There's also a limiter which in fact is a saturator (as far as I recall), but I always forget which one it is.
So good descriptive names are so important
(most are fine
)

Hehe yeah I know, many many plugins... And the MLimiter f** up will follow me forever probably
.
Anyways the overlap is actually very small - look at Waves, UAD etc., they have like gazillions of eqs, comps... :vomit:
And most other companies have names like Solera or R42
. So I think the situation is not that bad
.

MLimiter - yes that was it. Why don't you put the info (as a note) into the plugin, then make an Mlimiter2 or why not MRealLimiterMeldaProduction wrote:Hehe yeah I know, many many plugins... And the MLimiter f** up will follow me forever probably.
With your abilities some fix you should be able to cure it somehow

Hehe there is MDynamicsLimiter
. Sadly this one is uncurable without breaking backwards compatibility
. For the record, it technically IS a limiter by definition. But not according to the classic understanding, which in audio community is often more than definition
.

The most important reason why I'm using MStereoSpread instead of any other plugin is it's mono compatibility! It's the only plugin I know which is mono-compatible as it only pans several frequencies while getting great widening results...

No, I know there is at least 1 similar plugin in the stereo bundle from vengeance. Don't know what its name was.wildcafe wrote:The most important reason why I'm using MStereoSpread instead of any other plugin is it's mono compatibility! It's definitely not the only one, but it's rare as designing it properly is very complicated...
