I also updated the new new 128 patches collection at the "Banks & Patche" page for The Legend at teh KVR Plugin database:
http://www.kvraudio.com/product/the-leg ... /downloads

This way the patches are also available independent from threads at KVR like this one.

I have recorded an improvisation using 9 instances of The Legend, all with my own patches which also includes 3 drum sounds (no other synths or samples used). This was recorded "live" using 3 MIDI controller keyboards.

Here is the track (5:00 min long, The Lead sound starts around 1 min):
Ingo Weidner - The Legend - Improvisation 01

The 3 drum instances were triggered by a looped MIDI clip. The Arpeggiator for the Bass is from the Novation Bass Station 2 used as a controller and the notes of the MIDI output of this were recorded.

The built-in Delay and Reverb were used in The Legend.
External effects used: Ensemble in ValhallaÜberMod (for 2 pad sounds) and ArtsAcoustic Big Rock Phaser (1 Strings pad sound). No additional external FXs used, also no mastering FXs.

The patches used for this track are: Square Glider Ld IW, Raw Solina Viola+Violin IW, BP Vox IW, Pink Rain IW, Slow CS-like Brass IW, In Your Face Bass 1 IW, Self-Osc Kick IW, Snare IW, Hi Hats IW.
Except the new patch "Pink Rain IW" all are included in my free 128 patches collection posted here.
For this track the Delay and Reverb are edited in some of those.

Here is the same track re-rendered using 5 different of my own patches for The Legend (3 drum instances and 1 pad are similar to the previous one):
The Legend - Improvisation 01_Variation 1

This time the only external FX used is an Ensemble from ValhallaÜberMod für the Choir/Vox like patch. The Delay and Reverb are the built-in ones in The Legend. Again no mastering FXs used.

All patches used are included in my free 128 patches collection posted here.
Those are: 3 Partial Triangles IW, Bellic Echo Pad IW, BP Vox IW, Rise & Fall Rez Pad IW, Oxygene 4 Brass IW, Brassy Bass 1 IW, Self-Osc Kick IW, Snare IW, Hi Hats IW.
The Delay and Reverb was edited for some of them.

I had alraedy focused on doing patches like Synth Brass, using the Bandpass filters and recently also more Basses.
Now i will try to do some more "digital" like stuff like i alraedy did with a few Bell and/or Glass like sounds and maybe will also try to do additional E-Piano sounds (currently theer are only 2) and other Keys.
Could be also a good option to again check what is possible with current features independent of a specific target like i i alraedy tried to do with several of my current/recent patches.

There is a Lead patch called "Shine On IW" in my current collection but i curent re-check this one.

Ther problem is that in the original Shine On You Crazy Diamond track, in later concerts and also in different cover versions quite different kinds of sounds were used. Actually Most versoons i found so far of the Lead sound are at least slightly differnt or even with bigger differences.
In the original track it seems to sound closer to a flute, i later concerts closer to a ynth Brass or Synth Horn and in certain covers again different.
Concerning Synth Brass and Synth Horn sounds at the moment my collection alraedy contains a big amount of diffeernt patches.

At the moment i created two other versions additionally to the one alraedy included in my collection but re-checking different version of the track/song now.
Anyway independent of how close it is to the track the current 3 versions i got sound quite nice on their own.

I admit that at the moment i am also more interested in sound that i like my own. Some patches in my collection are isnpired by known soudns but they wee tweaked in a way i like them myself. One example is the "Slow CS-like Brass IW" which is inspired by the Blade Runner Brass or "Logos-ish Lead" based on Logos by Tangerine Dream. There are also other examples.

A lot of patches in the collection were created "from scratch" while maybe slightly inspired by known sounds.

Ingonator Thanks for looking into. Personally, original Shine On lead always sounded like a trumpet to me, but no pressure. And Moog in parts VI-IX of the song is different to what's heard in I-V.

There's more to Rick's Moog tones than just Shine On. Any Colour You Like Have a Cigar lead Welcome to the Machine is a monstrous synth work in its entirety, Dogs lead

But I understand you are now in a different mindset, so another time, then.

Thanks Ingo!

Ingo, are you making a Legend bank to end all Legend banks? :hyper:

Hi Ingo, do you by chance have the NKS files for your patch collection as you do with your Obsession patches? Just picked up The Legend on the BF sale and absolutely love this synth.
