On Ubuntu 16.04 64Bit using Tracktion 7.2.1 trying to load Daw Essentials 1.0.20 plugins, the compressor, ducker, chorus, crusher, gate expander, reverber8, bus compressor and limiter are failing to load.

After scanning those plugins, nothing is printed in the console....

Post

There is also a problem opening more than one plugin of the DEC at the same time. Pinning one plugin and opening another one will crash Tracktion. This is on Debian 8 with Tracktion 7.2.1

In the terminal, could you run the following command (Assuming that's where you installed the plugins) and send me the output:
ldd ~/.vst/DAW\ Essentials\ Collection/#TCompressor.so

Heres ldd output on the compressor library.

Edit: Also sometimes trying to scan the plugins crashes Tracktion7.
This tho will produce a few lines of logs.

Odd, looks like all the required packages are installed. So I understand correctly, some plugins are scanning fine? It's just the ones you listed that aren't scanning?

Post

Been using Biotek and Master Mix for a while now and the new AutoFilter, DelayStudio, Equaliser, Flanger, Phaser, Stereo Delay and Tape Delay are working.

Also some plugins will randomly crash when loading....

I noticed that while it fails if i use the option "Scan for new or updated VST plug-ins"
It did import them properly with Drag n Drop and they work...

Just a note to say that I started to use some of the DAW Essentials on Linux Mint 17 (Ubuntu based) with Bitwig and the ones I tried (at least half of them) all load just fine. I thought of mentionning this just in case the problem with be related to T7.

MasterMix also loads fine in both Bitwig and Mixbus32C.

If anybody is having trouble with opening two plugins crashing their DAW, can you try this updated version and let me know if it fixes the issue? https://www.dropbox.com/s/2yf50j1rjfe2x ... ar.gz?dl=0

I still can't reproduce the issue myself.

Post

I could reproduce the issue with pinned plugins. Seem to be fixed in your new version.

Post

Yes, looks like it is fixed!

Post

Version 1.0.21 is up on the website

Linux fixes:
Support for Ubuntu 14.04
Fixed crash when two plugins pinned open
Enabled online unlocker
Fixed window resizing on HiDPI displays

Post

I got crackles and jack xruns running the latest (1.0.21) DEC equalizer with the latest Tracktion 7 (v7.21) on Debian. It looks like the equalizer display causes the problems. The crackles appear immediately after opening the equalizer gui regardless of enabling or disabling the analyzer curve. All other plugins of the collection are running fine without any audio artefacts.

Post

I also get crackles and xruns running the DAW Essentials Equalizer 1.0.21 on openSUSE Leap 42.2 (full preemption / realtime kernel 4.9.11-rt9) with Ardour 5.6 while the GUI is open. The other plugins I tried did not exhibit this behaviour.

Post

The worst xruns are when changing presets in Master Mix. I'm still hesitant in using MM and the DAW Essentials in general because of this and the two loud pops at max volume (of the powered speakers) that were heard when using the DE. I have posted here a detailed use case of MM and xruns.
