Hi koolkeys, koolkeys wrote:I, too feel for you. However, my DR-008 runs absolutely flawless with my Tracktion. And yes, I use Slicy and Fill-In Drummer every day. I've never had a crash with Tracktion at all, from this or any other, and it's always loaded. So I'm curious what is causing your problem. Have you checked with Jules or posted in the VST incompatability thread? Maybe neither will work. But if it works fine for me and others, but not for a few, it makes me think it must be a setting or something on your computer that makes Tracktion and DR-008 not like each other. I wish I could help more. Good luck. Cheers!

The point is, they can work perfectly one day but the next day, I have the sound in left channel only problem. It's a total mystery as to why this happens and keeps happening
I posted about this issue a while back and Rack Bitz (before he disappearedin a huff) replied saying he occasionaly had this problem with some vsti's, but in his case, it was down to using racks. This isn't the case here.
Hi Gordon,Beardedone wrote:Sorry to hear about your problem Ian. I have been using Dr008 with Slicy and Fillin drummers in Tracktion, FLs, Sonar and Live 4 without a problem. Are you sure that you have only one installed copy of the version 1.20 dll?
Yep, there's only copy of the 1.20 dll, it's in the Cubase 5.1 vst folder. DR008 works flawlessly with FLS and Cubase 5.1, so why Tracktion should suddenly throw it out of it's pram, I don't know????????? It's not as tho' I've lost hours of work here, but if I can't trust Tracktion to work consistently, then I'll just forget all about it.
Hi Rob,pHz wrote:youre not the only one with dr008 / tracktion issues ian ... ive got one too but its worked around pretty easy ...
... often when loading an edit that uses dr008 i get a 'plugin failed to load' kind of message and the dr008 filter appears with one of those little yellow exclamation marks on it ...
... when that happens i just make sure that i copy dr008 to an empty track - this copy instance always seems to load ok even if the original doesnt - and then copy this to the drum track after deleting the troubled instance
weird huh ???
Never had that issue, mind you, thats probably down to the fact they don't work together long enough for it to happen
DR008 is the only drum vsti I use.....I've just tried again and got the same problem, so thats it, if I can't use DR008, it's bye bye Tracktion.

I can't wait until Drum Nine comes out either(or DR-008 2 as you said) I've used so much of DR-008 that it's paid for itself many times over. I just hope the upgrade price isn't as steep as BFD or the like. I'm not a millionaire, and can't afford that.

p.s.: dr008 is working great here on athlon xp2000/delta1010/tracktion

Good point andyweb. Although one can develop a strong preference for a particular VSTi and simply not want to drop it and get another because one's host does not work properly with it, at least in his case anyway. I think he said it works without any problems in FLS and Cubase as well.andyeb wrote:I know the problem would seem to be with Tracktion, but what about changing your drum machine rather than your host? Try out LinPlug's RM IV for example...
Ian B...since the DR008 seems to work for others maybe it's an installation issue?

It's thanks to your heads up @ CM forum many moons ago, I got Tracktion.
I could change drum machines, I've still got Linplugs RM 111, but I've become dependant on the Slicy/Fill-in Drummer plugins with DR008

I honestly don't know, it's only the last two builds of Tracktion that this has happened with
Hi,lowkey wrote:What about wrapping it up in EXT? Be alot cheaper and time consuming.
True, it would be, but I don't want to spend more money 'just' to get something working.

If you don't want to spend money to get something working, then why leave Tracktion? Unless you mean you're just going back to 5.1 or FLS.
Are you sure your soundcard driver is a stable one? Maybe something on your computer is trying to use the driver at the same time and it's getting confused. I only suggest this because it happened to me one time. Every once in a while, Tracktion would stop making sound. I'm not talking about after I restarted Tracktion, but I'm saying it had sound one moment, then it stopped a few minutes later in the same session! I was so confused until I found some small utility trying to use my soundcard also and it confused the card.
I hope you get your problem solved. Cheers!

Hi koolkeys,
It's not so much I don't want to spend money, I shouldn't have to.
I primarily use Tracktion for the audio side, the midi aspect is primitive to put it politely. If there was a problem with soundcard drivers, they would show up with FLS/Cubase as well, but they don't. Add to this all my other vsti's work perfectly with Tracktion, it's only DR008 that has issues. There must be a reason why this is happening. I use EndItAll http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1759,1935,00.asp to close all the running processes it's safe to do so, before running any audio prog.
I'll go back to a much earlier version of Tracktion and see what happens, I don't recall seeing this problem prior to the last two builds.
Cheers anyway

I use Battery in Tracktion with no problems. I also use DFHS in Tracktion with little problems. However I do get some probelms with DFHS with multi outs once I start putting different effects on the different outs in a rack. Other than that no problems. Battery has always run flawless multi out or stero. Drum nine sounds promising though.

Probably totally unrelated but ...
I noticed that when using Reason/Rewire (XP Home) if you don't load/unload in the right order you get "zombie" traction +/- reason processes. No matter what you do you get the "plug-in fails to load" message, and the only answer is a reboot.
I wasted a good half hour last night on this doh
An RTFM issue on my part true but it sounds similar.

Hmmm... PIV.... CPU spikes to 100%.... Sounds like a denormal to me. You reported it?AD80 wrote:Nope thats what I needed. Thanks for checking. I have a 2.8ghz PIV with 1.5gigs RDram. DR008 hates my computer
! I think I'm the only one with this problem. Oh well, I guess I'll stay with Battery until DR008 2.0

Yup. Many many many times. Since way before version 1.19. Nothing can be done I dont think. I mean its freak problem with my system. I've never had probs with any other plug that I can remember. But you know, thats what demo's are for. It doesnt work with my system (regardless of host) so I didnt buy it. Simple. If it worked I would buy it. So maybe in version 2.
