I gotta say, it would be great to see a FireBird v3 though.

I agree with Villain Troy on this. A good paid update to Firebird would be welcomed. 64 bit version definitely. 1 or 2 more oscillators with some additional waveforms. A little more flexibility with the filter (shape/drive) & lfo (routing) . Id pay about $20- $30 for it.

Ppl say that Firebird has a certain sound that they dont like. I think its good that this synth has a signature kind of sonic. I don't like all of my synths super clinical sounding. I actually like the character even though I dont use it too much.

I'd love a Firebird 3....as long as it doesn't come from Tone 2....

I wanted to use Firebird a lot more, I even bought it.

But I so hated the fact that each time you open the plugin GUI it shuts all notes.
And the dev said it wouldn't fix it.

There is a lot of missinformation posted here. (as usuall on kvr)
The synth is available as freeware since over 2 years now. The most recent version is v2.1. It can be downloaded for free from here:

https://tone2.com/html/firebird.html

I do not experience any Problem with it (orion 8.x).

Gladiator and firebird both use something that they call HCM synthesis. Gladiator can do everything that fitebird can do and is also 64 bit and mac

And where is the "lot of misinformation" in your opinion? You just stated the obvious, which everyone knows by now.

Some people obviously do not know that gladiator is something like the sucessor of firebird3. At least this is what the autor told me some years ago. What ingo postet is true and not offtopic

The psychoacustic thing has also been removed with the recent update. Frequncy response is linear now

As far as i'm concerned, only Numanoid considered it offtopic.

That's nice and good to know. Also great that they still maintain their older products too.

...because I think a user is getting comped by Tone2 by promoting their new products, rather than old (now) freeware, which this thread is about in the end.

Post

But everything he wrote was true. :)

Post

A lot of things are true, but in relation to a thread it means it must be on topic, and this kind of post is just to promote Tone2 upcoming releases

Upcoming updates for Gladiator 2, Saurus 2 and Electra 2 were announced:

Rayblaster 2 was just released and both Icarus and Nemesis had updates too (Icarus 1.1 and Nemesis 1.2).

Many (most?) kvr users are somehow involed into projects ( sound design, beta tests, developers, etc)

There are also many trolls, haters, sock puppets and fanboys.

The sum of these people makes kvr such a nasty place
