Yes, it could now replace v3 and the input modelling extends it's use considerably. Looks like my Sunday's turned busy

Wow this is a considerably large update - thanks for the heads-up :tu:

€15 for the v4 upgrade and a bit of a rigmarole to get it...

Well, that's my favourite limiter (and now it's even better) :tu:

happy happy weekend.

Is the monitor button still absent?

Would be nice to see it return in v4.2 if it hasn't already.

Either way, with the dithering back and the input modelling, i'm sold already and i still haven't demoed it!

Hope there will be a 'ceiling' option, like v3!

Wow, I'm still on V2 and this looks tremendous. I should have looked for updates a bit more.
Thanks for posting this. :)

Best limiter ever, now with 7.1 - I just love Toneboosters :)

Do you mean like the orange triangle on the output meters?

What do you mean by "Ceiling" option?

You declare the ceiling level with the "threshold slider" on the right hand side of the UI (triangle on the second meter from the right). And compared to Barricade 3, you can even double click on it and enter numeric values.

May I ask why the "monitor button" is so important? I never really used it in v3. Wasn't this to only show the "strength of compression"?

It makes it possible to judge the change in transient impact. I actually "can not" work a limiter without that.
I'd have to constatly decrease volume to double check the settings. The workflow is ass following:
-enable monitor
-bring down threshold to make the compression sound obvious
-adjust attack and release, link, etc. so it suits the material and taste
-bring back the threshold until you like the impact of the transients and overall sound
-disable monitor
-enjoy!

You're sure that you're not talking about a compressor then?

What you just explained, is more true for a compressor than a limiter.

"Barricade" was mainly a brickwall limiter that stood true to it's ceiling (True Peak Limiting, v3 especially), and not necessarily a "compressor" in terms of behavior. I'm not going to push boundaries with Barricade, I clip off rogue peaks (working at a -16LUFS up to K-12 max target level).

So the Monitor Button was obsolete to me IMO.
