My advice: Wait and see! As I wrote before, much of why we haven't released it yet is that we're working on code for UI specific enhancements. Part of that is that I too miss the vector rings.

The left and right preset arrows on either side of the top display now are tiny little black triangles. Boring! What happened to the big triangular losenges? They were cool! Bring them back!

IIRC a more flat design is in the works, for a high contrast alternative with the same layout.

The layout and features are the main purpose. Once done, creating variations with different looks is pretty easy.

It is a matter of taste of course, but I personally hate flat designs.
So please don't dump one for the other. Include both options?

Sorry but the old design was way cooler. This is very safe and boring. You made Zebra look boring.
The old vector knobs were classic. You shouldn't mess with a classic.
The old colour scheme was way cool. The lime green on all the text and dials was COOL! This is NOT COOL!

I like the new layout way better. Couldn't care less what it looks like (3D, flat) but there's now at least a visual distinction between different functional elements. Really much better for my tastes
