Because I can't zoom out easily in the composer or sequence editors, it can be very hard to draw in a new part the length you want it - because the pencil tool goes off the left-hand edge and the UI doesn't scroll to let you continue. Once drawn, it's then very difficult to adjust both part and contained sequence to a new length - currently, the ideal method from the composer, seems impossible: you need to change the sequence, then the part separately.
Thus, this is a two part feature request.
First, fundamentally fix the current method so that drawing a part or sequence causes the view to scroll to contain the cursor as it approaches the left edge of the screen. (Not to fast, of course...) This fixes the most common use case: the first time I draw the second part on a track, I run out of screen width.
Secondly, the should be a keyboard modifier that allows the part length to be modified and increases the sequence length inside as well. I'm really only after lengthening a part that is filled completely by the whole of its sequence and having that sequence lengthened to fit but, if it's already looped, you would presumably proportionately lengthen the sequence to get the same looping effect (i.e. two complete iterations remains two complete iterations, etc).
If it's already there, I couldn't find it in the composer documentation.
For the sequence editor, the problem applies to moving the end marker -- you open the editor, the sequence fills the screen nearly and zoom out doesn't. So if the sequence is a lot too short, it's a similar pain.
