I was trying to test out my notion that, with modulatable phase and detune control over a bank of oscillators, Hive could already work as a quasi additive synth. The results were unlistenable gungeUrs wrote:I don't think adding something utterly complicated to Hive would be a wise thing to do.Dasheesh wrote:Wait, wait, wait a second here.... are we talking about giving HIVE additive oscillators? Cause that would blow my mind. boom.
I'm just toying with the idea of adding a few waveforms that are based on complex approaches but are otherwise used with the same set of controls as the standard waveforms. That is, I don't think I would like to add any editors which would double size the user manual.
I suppose you've got to get the maths just right for additive synthesis to work. But I still think Hive has enough things going on in its current architecture that spicing up the waveform area would require only minor tweaks.
