moving notes left/right via controller knobs?

I'm as-of-yet unfamiliar with the scripting API and looking at the documentation hasn't answered my question. In the note edit window, would it be possible to map a knob to allow for fine-grained left/right time movement of the currently selected the note(s)? I do a lot of manual "humanization" and this would be a big time saver for me. What part of the API should I look in for this information?

Hehe. I kind of hoped that there would be someone with an answer for this. Are there folks in this subforum who are active scripters?
