If i had to guess then i would say because he is a sound designers, and it'd be of great help to do more complex patches. Yes, to be honest it's not an exciting feature, it's just useful. I'd love for Hive to get something really different from what's already out there.

Love to see looping envelopes in Hive . With Hive's ability to mod envelope stages , looping envelopes would offer modulation shapes that are an interesting alternative to LFOs .
