Nothing, I am happy with it.

Looking forward to the release of the new UI. Looks great.

The new UI is obviously on the right track. Spunky's "feedback" is about as valuable as investment advice from a hobo.

You're aware that e.g Hans Zimmer uses Zebra, right? As in, a guy who's musical accomplishments add up to somewhat more than anonymous whining on an Internet forum. Or how about EvilDragon -- his name might be ridiculous, but his long list of successful custom kontakt instruments is not. And there are many, many more such cases.
Not that I agree with anyone in this debate, per se, this isn't really much of an argument. Of course, nobody should listen to me at all, unless you want my money.

Love what I've seen of the new UI. Keep up the great work u-he!

If carpenters regarded their tools the way some KVRians regard their synths nothing more substantial than a mud hut would ever get built.

Hah but I'm pretty sure carpenters don't work with mud!
It seems like a lot of people find any criticism of ANything to be nitpicking, or even rude.

I think that's a bit off, although I too find spunkmuffin a tad on the abrupt / incessant side.
I almost started to feel bad about writing some negative comments about this GUI until I thought about it a bit.

Isn't that why its being posted in the first place? I don't think they are posting images of WIP just for the kicks, more likely its to see what people think?

Secondly, cmon its not hard to understand why people have things to say about these tools. I make a living from music, and Zebra has been a HUGE part of that over the past decade, why shouldn't I care about its development??
Over the past how ever many years I've really enjoyed the tiny bits of dialogue I have had with Urs and U-he, even if that has only been a handful of pms and a few comments in various zebra threads, I have always appreciated their online presence here, their openness about their creation process, and their willingness to listen to their customers.

That is why I am on this board. Period.
To many more years of that!!!

I totally agree on both points.

About putting the revision number in the Zebra title. Why do this?

Ah I know why you guys did this. It's to make support easier. U-he get support calls from certain people with problems and support asks them for the Rev. number on their product...and they can't find it! Then support has to explain for 10 minutes where to find the Rev number....etc. Massive time waster for U-he & pain in the b*tt for support. The solution is to put the Rev. number in the title! Brilliant! However this means the title has to be a little smaller and looks a little cramped and just not as pretty.

Overall positive? For support yes. For U-he yes. For Urs yes probably. For users - depends, most won't notice consciously. For me personally - no, I notice.

It's only one small thing I know. But the small things add up.

If this wasn't the reason for moving the revision number into the title then what was?

How is this better from a design point of view?

Thankfully majority of people don't give a flying f*ck about how big the title on the GUI is. Not a huge loss if one self-righteous guy thinks everything he says is right and should be as he says.

Why use capitals?

SYNTHESIS used to be Synthesis. GLOBAL used to be Global. Even the title ZEBRA used to be Zebra.

Why shout?

It looks less elegant.

LOL, someone recently moaned about our use of lower case letters. We can talk once all design specialists on KVR get their act together and commit to a common design principle.
