I've been trying out both T5 and T7, and ended up quite liking the look, feel and workflow of the latter, and everything would seem almost perfect, but I can't seem to solve the basic problem, and that is getting my MIDI controller to run (M-Audio Oxygen 49).
DAW seems to recognize it, since it's shown as an input option, and when i drag the plugin into the track output, and select the controller as input option, the meter displaying controller velocity in the left corner will actually show activity as I press keys. In MIDI settings themselves when i press keys, they will be displayed correctly on screen (C3 would be C3 on the keyboard mapper present on screen for example). But the problem is, plugin sound just won't come out. The controller itself and the plugin don't seem to connect. When i press the little keyboard keys adjacent with the midi track with my mouse, the sound will come out however.
What appears to be the problem here? I hope it isn't some complete newbie thing I've missed. But so far I can't find out what could be the problem, since MIDI controller apparently works, but wont control the plugin itself.

If you click on the MIDI input, have you got Enable Input Monitoring enabled in its properties panel?

That has solved it ! Thank you very much for your help.
Do you happen also to know if the master parameter can be automated as a separate track? (For example if I want to automate equalizer parameters with automation lane only)

Yes, you can automate the master. It's just like adding automation to any track, but instead of dragging the A onto an effect in the current track, just drag it track down the to effect in the Master section.
The only thing that might seem confusing is that the Master's automation curve will appear in the track from which you dragged the A.
Tracktion actually works so that you can see any Track's automation curves on any other track.

to keep things organized, just insert an empty track and call it "master automation".
drag the "A" from there to the masterplugin/mastervolume/masterpan and then edit the automationline that appears on that track to your liking.
