DAW newbie here. I'm using T6, windows 10 (i know, i know...) both 64 bit. I need some help understanding what I'm doing wrong when I'm trying to scan and use vst plugins. I've downloaded, extracted and installed ezdrummer2, 10 day free trial and though the stand alone works fine, I cannot figure out how to get it to work with T6.
When I do a scan for vsts, I get the error message, "found what looks like vst plugins, but could not load them..."
What am I doing wrong?
I downloaded, extracted and installed ezdrummer (T6 is already set up according to instructions from their videos and manual).
After I extracted it (to the desktop), I noticed these zipped files inside the extracted files Host64, Plugin64. OK, complete noob question, what next?
Will someone please walk me through how to install and use a vst with Tracktion6? I'm hoping one of you will have the patience to relay some simple instructions and info.
Or, if you have a link to a page simply explaining the pertinent basics, that would be welcomed, too. I've look far and wide, high and low on youtube, various websites and wikis, to no avail. Ironically, the info I'm finding is either far too basic or meant for an advanced user.
Thanks! Your time is very much appreciated.
Need Some Help w/VST Plugins and Tracktion6-Thanks!

A couple of things come to mind. If you're running the 64-bit version of T6, it won't recognise 32-bit plug-ins, and vice versa. Also, when you run a scan for plug-ins, you need to tell it which folders to look in.
When Tracktion tells you it can't load plug-ins, it will tell you which ones failed. Now then, I have a 64-bit laptop with W10 on it, and I have both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Tracktion installed on it, so at least that way I have the option to check whether a plug-in can be accepted in either.
When it comes to adding plug-ins to a track, there are at least a couple of ways. One is to drag the blue icon with the white cross (upper right corner area) onto the end of your track (or you can put it on a single clip) and then you'll get menus to choose your plug-in. You can also select plug-ins from the browser; I've linked to a 10 minute video below, in which Billl Edstrom, alias Gigazaga, who wrote the manual, shows how to record MIDI. It's for T5, but the same applies for other versions. There are other T5 videos which might be useful for you. In the one below, Bill opens the browser at about 41 seconds in and adds a synth plug-in to a track. There is also a Presets option on the browser, so you can have a list of named plug-in patches to choose from as well.

[W10-64, T5/6/7/W8/9/10/11/12/13, 32(to W8)&64 all, Spike],[W7-32, T5/6/7/W8, Gina16] everything underused.

Hi Jabe,
Thank you for responding. I just haven't been catching on to this one issue for some reason.
I wrote a detailed response but the spam filter keeps rejecting it. Just need to know how to install the vst properly, then how to use the plugin setting properly.
Again, thank you for replying.
