I just opened Cubase, and I was wondering why it took so long to boot. Wow! I'm still new to Cubase. I never had to deal with that before. That's crazy.

I don't know why nobody has brought this up yet.
Take your OS off of automatic DST change. Set the clock manually. Stops rescan. I haven't had one in a couple of years now since the first time I went through this hell. And yes, it is HELL. Steinberg should burn in it for putting us through this nonsense.
Anyway, there's your fix.
You're welcome.

Actually was brought up before, and was also pointed out that it doesn't work with several online authentication processes.wagtunes wrote:I don't know why nobody has brought this up yet.

But it does stop the rescan, doesn't it?SJ_Digriz wrote:Actually was brought up before, and was also pointed out that it doesn't work with several online authentication processes.wagtunes wrote:I don't know why nobody has brought this up yet.

only if you don't want to use some of your plugins.wagtunes wrote:But it does stop the rescan, doesn't it?SJ_Digriz wrote:Actually was brought up before, and was also pointed out that it doesn't work with several online authentication processes.wagtunes wrote:I don't know why nobody has brought this up yet.

That's interesting. Must be a change made to Cubase 9. In 7, which is what I'm still using, I have access to all my plugins and haven't had a rescan in ages.SJ_Digriz wrote:only if you don't want to use some of your plugins.wagtunes wrote:But it does stop the rescan, doesn't it?SJ_Digriz wrote:Actually was brought up before, and was also pointed out that it doesn't work with several online authentication processes.wagtunes wrote:I don't know why nobody has brought this up yet.

All the more reason why I'll probably never go to Cubase 9.

Hello,
You can simply disable the option to automatically allow daytime saving on your computer and the problem will be solved. You just have to change the clock manually.
Best regards,
GN
I have been mentioning this on every single bug review meeting we have, the problem is that users only complain about this twice a year, and then it disappears until the next time and so on so forth... Again, it is a matter of priorities, the time it will take to fix this is used on something else.thejonsolo wrote:Well I have hundreds (and yes I use them) and for the most part it is ok...till I hit Izotope...then I have to be present to click the "ok" to get through the popup error boxes. Sadly Izotope adds dlls that aren't plugins but clearly part of the GUI. Deleting them means the plug works but no GUI. Keeping them is not an issue...TILL CUBASE DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME RESCAN!
Steinberg. I mean PLEASE respond and explain to me why I go through this crap twice a year for no known reason. If I reinstalled or even upgraded, I get it. But change of time? No.

I thought that what triggered the rescan was the adjustment of the clock. Why should Cubase care whether it was done manually or automatically?Guillermo Navarrete wrote:You just have to change the clock manually.

Translation:
If you want this fixed... Keep the complaints sustained year round so it becomes a priority to fix it.
That way, the next time Guillermo Navarrete brings it up in a bug review meeting, it can be bumped up the list to provide a fix.
If Cubase were my host (and I'm actually looking to pick it up vs choosing Logic over next 1-2 years since I'm doing my best to move on completely from PT) I'd send regular emails and forum posts to find out about that bug... Because I'd hate to see it again in the fall!

Thing is, people who don't have a shit load of plugins probably will be hardly caring less about 2 plugin re-scans in a year.elxsound wrote:Translation:

Of course, on KVR it's the biggest catastrophy ever, and the forum rep is the biggest devil for explaining things how they are.

Why is he still a social community representative for Steinberg?!
Ignores questions (Twitter is just as "selective"), insults users and breaks data privacy (speaking from experience), says things he shouldn't say (like the "in order to fix all bugs in the Mix Console, Cubase has to be recoded from scratch" on GearSlutz once) which in turn makes the company he works for look bad... and now this...
Hey rasmus... care for a triple facepalm moment? As in, can I join?

Right...
Coming from a Cubase "Artist" user that's not even that long a "Steinberg family member"...
Man... that made my evening... thank you!
