I know foosnark. It occupies the niche I targeted for (so 1024x768 screen res is definitely not recommended.)

I chose to build for tomorrow's computers, not yesterday's.

Also note that those mod source selector dials are easier to read as you rotate them (the selected position is the most well lit). Really, it's turning out to be VERY quick and easy to use. I did the GUI first exactly so I would be forced to use it during development of the voice. So if there was anything annoying about it, I'd know by now. All I can say is, even with over 180 controls, it's one of the fastest to edit soft-synths I've ever used.

Also note that there's a text read-out at the top that shows the name and value of whatever knob you're moving. So if you can't see some label, just wiggle the knob and you'll see what it is. And I like to think that it's laid-out intuitively enough that you'll just KNOW which knob is which after an hour or so of using it. I mean, I'm typing on a keyboard right now and I can't see the letters underneath my hands. Yet I keep poking the correct ones. Same with a real-world keyboard, I'm sitting 3 feet away from my Korg CX-3 and a DX-7 and I can't read most of their silkscreened panel labels.

I agree it's not for everybody. But I felt making something different would be best in a market where so many products look, feel and sound, the same. You're right, WHO needs another VA synth? Well, I'm hoping to convince many of you that you do. Those who like it, will LOVE it.

So yes, this horse is dead. There's over 3 months of work in that GUI and I'm not starting over from scratch until version 2.x (which may be never! I HATE it when companies release a product, then come out with another "improved" one a year later to force you to buy it again! If I do ever do that, it'll be because it's ALL new and I'm just re-using the name.)

EDIT: By the way, I indend to eventually offer different color sheme backgrounds, and probably even one made with a pixel-font as well. Also, there is SOME chance of an option for a different kind of mod-source selector control, but no promises on that one. We'll see.

Cheers!

First Beta of Poly-Ana is out!

Please read the Coming Soon list before trying her... there's still some stuff to come and we don't want anybody to waste their free week evaluation too early.

Let's carry this on in this thread please:

Cheers!

Whee! I bet you're glad to have lived to 1st beta!

Sorry for bumping an old thread, but most the later threads are closed :(

You probably do not want to miss Poly-Ana at $45 during March :)

Has the latest version with the skinning come out of beta since a couple years ago?

Edit: Just checked the site and it looks like the latest beta posted was from October 2015 with a note saying to watch this space as new betas would coming very soon. I'm not sure that they are using the phrase "very soon" exactly the same as most people would. :P I still recommend picking this up at this great price though. Hopefully it will give them a bump to finish V1.3.

Any mention of Admiral Quality on kvr is forbidden. Ben said so.

(Unless he has changed his mind recently, but I doubt that.)

Why?
100 High Quality Soundsets: Omnisphere 2, Dune 3, Tone 2 Synths, Pigments, Uhe Synths, Halion, Spire, and others.

I can't talk about a plug-in that I own with others on this forum? I doubt that's the case. If it were I would likely leave KVR. I know the developer has been a real douche to the mods here but that shouldn't mean the users get punished.

Don't know about Ben or his alleged edict, but sfxsound3 said 'Admiral Quality', not 'Poly Ana'. so go ahead and talk about the plug-in you own, to your heart's content : )

Oh come on, being allowed to talk abuot a product without mentioning the company that makes it would be equally as absurd. But anyways, that aside - I hope the company not to be named updates Poly-Ana soon, and I hope we see a V2 some day...

V2 would be great, been looking forward to it for a long time. I even got to make a few feature suggestions for it which (name not to be mentioned) seemed to think were healthy additions. There is a facebook account for this plugin, daags, [mod edit: puzzling and inappropriate bit removed]. I can't wait!

I wonder how he is doing, without KVR publicity. I assume he is selling hardly any licenses anymore and might already have quit development.

That's bullshit fluffly.
Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

Give us a break. Nobody going to buy anything from him after such amazing publicity.
Murderous duck!
