Help with ER-1 patch

Hi I need some help toning this thing down to it's bare essentials. Andreas helped me with it and it's good in it's own right, but I want to try and get a little closer to the ER-1, functionally, be nice if I could replicate it's sound character a little but not really my aim. I just want a simple drum synth with variety.

I'm uploading a patch that is basically a mess!
ER-1 v2-1.rar
A little explanation is necessary. First I'll explain the mess.
The bottom half is the old MuX patch, top half is the new.
As it's set, there is a nice thump, trouble is, I want to use an MFO as the Mod Type, but the MFO (LFO1) is not producing that same thump. This is the start of my trouble.

Thanks

I don't know if this is what you are looking for, but i recognize that C3 from a keyboard sounds OK and from the C3 pad in the patch is's not.
I checked and the pad is not connected to the LFO, which means it's not retriggered when you hit the pad.

Does this help?

I humbly bow before the master...

Thanks for your help, both before and now.
Well I'm trying to strip out those pads as they're part of the old patch.
I'm attempting to copy what's on the white panel only  I just realised, I bet you can't see that graphic can you? :dog:
Just in case, here it is:
Korg ER-1 - Copy (2).png
It's essentially the front panel of an ER-1, which I would like to replicate. My problem is a lack of kick using the MFO as an LFO for the Mod Type parameter knob.

Thanks again :tu:

Glad to be of service :)

I'm interested how you make that modulation work. So, if you have a patch I would appreciate a peek.
Does this bit of synth create all of the drums in that machine?
I'm currently very much into eurorack hardware synths and i can see that this little thing could go a long way.

It's all in that patch, currently the only parts sounding are the new parts, the old have been disabled.

Anything in the bottom of the front panel is switched off.

I connected the mfo then Taifunk grandly assisted further.

Thanks

That's what I'm trying to aim for. I don't know how flexible the Mux is with regards to drums. There have been a couple of Mux patches for drum sounds but not what I'm after.

I would ultimately like to use either an Osc or Sampla to synthesise drums or obviously play back my own samples from the ER-1. When I say either, I mean the patch gives you a choice to play back either. So essentially this patch would be some sort of amalgamation of the ER-1 and the ES-1, but without all the ES-1's FX and of course the sequencer!

I've managed to get this thing very close to the original concept. :hyper:
However, I just can't seem to get it to make snares, claps, etc.
I'm so close, but I just can't figure it out!
Can anyone tell me what's missing? :help:

I'm ready :box:
You need a main envelope in polysynth :x
open the polisynth> connect the amplifier envelope(disconnect from the oscillator and connect it to the amplifier)
After that right click on the envelope and choose> "set as main envelope"

Post

A-ha! I'll try that soon as my boy gets off my PC :hyper:

I switched the Env from the Osc to Amp and made it default, but it doesn't make any difference to the sound. :phones:
Is there any real difference between the two methods?

Moving on, do I need to use a different source to obtain snares, claps and hats? It's just that the original ER-1 only had two waves as input.

Surely because that is the last step before the sound comes out the polisynth
I have changed a bit your patch to figure out how to proceed :hihi:
try a setup like this:
TEST.zip
Read here to find out why you need the main envelope:

Yes,one step at a time :D

Thanks Taifunk :tu: That was a good step to take!
I needed to shift the phase -25%, maybe that's what you were talking about before? Sorry, for the first time, I couldn't understand exactly what you meant  I thought you meant the MFO, which didn't make any difference so I left it.

I made the changes, here's the latest:
ER-1 v4.rar

You are right :D
In the previous post I refer to the main envelope,I just changed the patch but without add any description of what I did ,sorry :hihi:
As you can see in my test patch I have deleted and added something in polysynth,
The phase is very important to have that "click",I also changed the mfo waveforms, added the unipolarizer and also the distortion after the oscillator.
Maybe you want to know why the envelope must be connected to the master amplifier and not to the oscillator?

Post

No worries mate, I checked through it thoroughly and found your changes 8)
That 'click' was the main issue I was trying to figure out.
My trouble is that I haven't a clue how to use a modular system!
I'm just guessing! :hihi:
I've only worked with presets and adjusted to suit, but I would love a proper drum synth like the ER-1 again, I found it so easy to use and it's limitations were extremely inspiring! :hyper:
You are correct, I would love to know the differences for connecting the Env to the Osc and Amp.
Thanks for the help, it's coming on nicely now :tu: :tu: :tu:
