Zebra Legacy (Zebra2)

Will the ability to copy modules be part of Zebra 3. For instance -- even a duplicate function between like modules would be very useful.

Thanks -- really looking forward to Z3. I keep coming back to Z2 because it's so easy to be creative and is so much fun.

Thanks.

What a load of BS to compare Zebra and Bazille like that. Though I use the Gearporn skin, there's nothing wrong with Bazille's UI anyway. Except you not liking it.

it's not a matter of "liking" it----it's just unusable. due to its gui ratio. I'm pretty sure I would really like it---based on how much I like zebra ---but I literally just can't use it functionally ---it's not accessible. I would love a zebra gui style synth that was fm-based

bazille is still more accessible than serum and basically every other soft synth not made by uhe

hive is perfect size also it's very accessible but it's not useful to me because I have zebra ----the two things that are much better on hive than zebra is the flanger , the hive flanger is awesome sounding ---zebras is just that good, and the way u can shift patterns in the hive arp is something that would be good in zebra

Bazille is totally usable. Especially the Gearporn skin at 130% zoom (on 1920x1200 here) :) Knobs are plenty big to use. Of course the GUI needs more screen real estate with THAT amount of parameters, it's expected to.

I love the Bazille GUI... especially the Gearporn skin!!

Yes, the controls are smaller, but for me, that is outweighed by having everything on one page and no need for tabbing around the interface.

I keep Bazille at 120% or 130% - I forget which one at the moment.

Bazille is incredible [and absolutely usable]; I still don't understand why it's so cheap.

+1 in favor of Gearporn.

This Zebra 3 thing sounds like Star Trek transporter in my home for making coffee. When is tangible evidence it exists?

When Zebra 2.8 comes out because we're testing a lot of concepts for Zebra3 in the new UI.

(also, we just successfully extended our Modulation Matrix technology to work together with our MultiCore voice handling in synths... this is a major stepping stone in Zebra3 development)

Great news!

Will it be beneficial to Diva filters in ZHZ, then, too? :)

Well, we haven't upgraded Zebra2's voice handling for it, just like we haven't done any form of MPE support for it. That's because it wasn't built for that purpose and one of the major reasons to move on to Zebra3 as a complete rewrite.

I like all the plugmon GUI´s the most since for me they already feels like a new major version and the workflow is better for me compared to the rest.
The Aiko GUI for Diva and coming for Bazille especially is awesome and looks really modern.
Multi-core for Zebra 3 would be fantastic indeed.
So, is there a chance for version 2.8 this year?
I gave up waiting for version 3 anytime soon and don´t expect it before 2019 or so which is O.K. since Zebra 2 and HZ are already very versatile.

It was imminent in January, until we decided to improve some workflow features which were also planned for Z3. We still have a few loose ends to tie up in the UI.

One of the big issues left is a control that shows all modulation targets for a selected modulation source. It's pretty cool but it needs a lot of code restructuring. Likewise we'll have better "big versions" of the various editors (waveforms, MSEGs, mappers...), and so on, which need to be a bit more optimised before we can let them out into the wild. These represent a major chunk of the Zebra3 design goals, so I hope that slowly but surely all the developments that were done over the years fall in place.

It sounds like 2.8 has become a kind of a testing ground for Zebra3 features. That could be fun.

2.9 also maybe. :hihi:
