I really am enjoying the Pattern Generator. I do have a few questions and observations about it...
It has a mention of a "Global Track", this is evidently the track that all the others follow and sync to. How do you designate which track is the Global Track? Is it automatically the first track you generate? Can you make a track that you did not create with the Pattern Generator be the Global Track?
I see that when I split a clip that I have generated, and move the split part, it then becomes cleared and all the MIDI info is gone...and I cannot select the clip and generate a new pattern in it. I have to delete the clip and put a new clip in there.
It's a great feature!

Global Track = Tempo Track at top of screen where you can set Time Signature and do temp changes + set the Global Key.

I see this issue with the missing notes, set the offset of the split clip to 0 and you'll see them. I'll fix that so the pattern generator takes the offset into account.

I hope you guys don't mind me hitching on to this thread but I also have a pattern generator question.

Is it me or is the maxing length I can have a chord using the chord pattern generator is one bar? I can make the chord shorter than one bar but never longer. Is that correct? If it is, would it be possible to allow having a chord any length?

Post

All the patterns are 1 bar in length, which is why that limit was put in place. You can just double up the chord if you need it longer.

I can't see this pattern generator - where is it?
