Why are you wasting time posting gibberish when you could be making tracks instead :box:
Oh, SNAP! :P
Windows 10 isn't quite the pig everyone claims it is, and no one with Windows 7 or 8 hasn't had any problems "ever" (as some in this thread claim).

There's no need to argue about OSes, since that's not helping the OP with his issue.

Nobody is arguing about anything.

I had an issue in Win 10 with installing V-Station, that I reported got solved.

And then a lot of idiots come into the thread to ride their own agenda, either that I should be writing tracks instead of wasting time on doing engineering duties, or smirking that they never had any issue with Win 10 and poke their noses in it

Exactly, and that was my point above. Just nonsense to say there's only problem fixing to do with Windows 10. Not surprised though, sometimes the movement against Windows 10 looks like one big religious crusade. FWIW, i wouldn't even use Windows 10 if i only had problems to fix, because i don't like problems, at all. That's actually the main reason i use Windows these days. Jeez. :dog:

Your making a mountain out of a molehill :nutter:

I had one installation problem, that eventually got solved.

I'm not even talking about you. ;) Or did you say there's "nothing but problem fixing in Windows 10"?

I can also tell you that W10 is the best OS for audio since Atari and BeOS, but I would be lying. You want lies? Well you've been listening to MS lies about their OSes since Windows 3.11, so I guess one more cannot hurt: W10 is the best OS since the sliced bread and I'm an idiot for still using W7 and XP for audio and only Debian Linux for Internet. Satisfied? Cheers! :tu:

Don't worry, be happy, eh? Now move on back to the topic.

Hey, @Dux, we get it: You don't like Windows 10. Ok. No one cares. Seriously. This post wasn't even about Windows 10. It was about V-Station, and the problem is resolved. (No thanks to the people who keep posting about how much they hate a particular OS, though.)

Everyone had moved back to the topic, but thanks for dropping by again to tell us all how you hate Windows 10.

Leslie Sanford wrote:Hi all,

I've been programming some patches with the Novation V-Station, v2.3.

I'm struggling to figure out how I can copy my programs from one location to another. When I began messing around with it, I chose "User 498" randomly and began programming, thinking I could save my program file and reload it wherever I wanted to later. But it seems that the location of the program is saved with the data, because when I reload it, regardless of the current location, it goes back to 498.

Ok, so I'll just write it to another location. I've read the manual on how to do this, but after selecting 'Write' and then changing to another program location and pressing 'Confirm' (twice), the program isn't overwritten with the desired program (but is maybe overwritten with itself, I dunno).

At any rate, any help will be appreciated.
Hmm, to be honest, I've never run into that kind of issues. I was able to develop the whole bank for V-Station and never had problems

Well, I'm not sure but, as far as I remember, when I developed every single patch, I wanted to reorder them and, at the end, create a sound bank.

There is a Todybear Minihost. It is a VST Host with a very nice preset manager. Maybe with the Todybear Minihost help, you'll be able to somehow copy / reorganize your V-Station patches, create bank etc. Note, that i may be wrong here, it was quite a long time ago - i dont remember if I was doing all the stuff, copying, reorganizing presets into bank manually, or used Todybear Minihost :) I just remember that I was doing it somewhere ;)

Its Tobybear, with a 'b'. :)

The main website is officially offline but he kept some of the downloadable content alive here.

MiniHost is the first in the list.
