What is the difference between Collective and Biotek ? Looks like a simpler version of Biotek.

I believe Collective is based on the BioTek engine. It was mentioned in one of the NAMM videos.
[W10-64, T5/6/7/W8/9/10/11/12/13, 32(to W8)&64 all, Spike],[W7-32, T5/6/7/W8, Gina16] everything underused.

Yes, the Waveform video about it makes it look a lot like Biotek. I was wondering what the differences were. I mean, why rename it to Collective if it's 100% Biotek ? Maybe it has something Biotek does not ? Or ... ?

No expert at all and have not being deep into them but for me it is kind of:

- in biotek the highlight is the easy to use modulation wheel in the easy mode, target (for me) is something like evolving pads, soundscapes etc.

- in collective the target lies on useable finished samplebased "bread and butter" sounds

But would be really interesting to get an info from the devellopers what was their intention....

Well it might looks similar (user interface), it is clear that Collective is stripped-down beast. BioTek is a 4OP FM synth with multisamples and morfing capabilities, arp and huge modulation options. Collective also have 4OPs FM and multisamples but things you can do are limited and there is no morphing pad. Modulation is much more limited (2 LFOs I believe).

Thanks. Do you know if any preset/samples from Collective can be useful for Biotek ?
