Thanks, can you also tag patches which are clean (unprocessed by filters - except compression - or extra oscilators). A single word "clean" would do the job. Anyway keep it up! I like the sampler very much.

I also notced that J Wolde Piano patch is little bit too heavy. From the XML files I figured out it is around 6 layers of velocity, but I can't get it playing pp or p. When I hit super pp it stills plays quite hard, likely one or two lower layers are not playbacked at all.
Also lots of piano patches got "clicky" sound on hammer, few of them were because there was sine wave added but I can recognize it even when only playing multisamples. Tried to turn off all efects without luck. Some patches featuring same multisample set does not have it e.g. Jazz Piano.

Hi!
I updated the J Wolfe Piano WMF.collinst to play in the correct octave and that it can be played softer. It's attached to this post. As you have already found the location of the original file, it is probably superfluous to tell you into which folder you should copy the file. Anyway, here is a quick way to do so:
* open the Browser page of Collective.
* click on the button in the top right labelled "Reveal Public Inst". The file manager of your OS should reveal the (public) folder Instrument.
* change into Instrument/Wolfram Franke and place J Wolfe Piano WMF.collinst into it.
* back in Collective, click on the Refresh button (the circle with the arrow).
BTW: the xml file doesn't tell you how many layers a sample has (although you might be correct with 6 velocity switches, I would have to check that). It only tells you how many layers an instrument has and this one actually only has one. I made the piano softer by using the two filters where I have now set them to a 12 dB low pass to soften the piano on low velocities and a 6 dB high pass removing some of the low "hammer" frequencies when playing softly. Additionally, I increased the velocity sensitivity of the output volume.
Tell me what you think of it.
Best wishes,
Wolfram

As for the other things you've mentioned:
"Clicky" hammer sound: Maybe the original sound programmer wanted to have it that way on purpose but if you want to get rid of a clicking envelope, just click on the "Declick" button in Envelope 4 (it is only displayed when the attack rate is smaller than 500 microseconds). Make sure to press it in all Sounds of an Instrument.
Tagging Instruments as "Clean" when no filter is used: yeah, well, we could argue about that. My J Wolfe Piano preset *was* clean and it now isn't anymore, since I have introduced both filters to make it more velocity-sensitive. But its sound still *is* clean. On the other hand, a distorted and/or filtered sample like a guitar with overdrive definitely is not clean, even if Collective doesn't apply any further filters or effects.
However, when I have a bit of time I might tag the sounds with further info like how many sound layers they have, if and which samples they use, filter types, decaying or sustained envelope, effects, and if they use the arpeggiator. I put this on the wish list.

Hey, definitely better. But what's wrong with length of the samples? I can't investigate them in more detail because the format is unreadable but it appears to be very short samples. Not sure how many samples are per layer, but the size of the multisample is quite big and I'd expect longer samples. Is there any way to make sustain longer if there are loops? I tired to play with ASDR without any luck. Personally I prefer piano patches which has less samples per keys or less velocities but are longer samples. "Jazz Piano" is a good example of such a patch.
Tiny detail - sostenuto pedal does not work on my ROLAND FP-30, it is checked in the patch.

Nothing is wrong with the length of the samples. In this case they are not looped. So, you can't make the piano longer with the envelope, since the original sample has decayed to 0. That's how this particular piano sounds. There are, however, smaller piano multisamples (e.g. Grand Piano B), which *are* looped and can therefore sound as long as you like when you set up the envelope accordingly.
Will check the Sostenuto pedal issue.
Best wishes,
Wolfram

Ok thanks Wolfram for the update and info. I understand now why envelopes did not work, I was just a bit confused, there are some debug XML output when the multisample was loaded and there was something numbers on loops tags which seemed as looped samples. Looking forward editing features. Can you guys share some details about sampling core, multisample format and compatibility (import/export)?
Out of curiousity, what kind of piano is this? I am kinda interested. Sounds very different to me, it is unique and it has character indeed.

Hello Izap (nice name btw),
I am the producer of the JWolfe Piano and also the one who did the most of the Collective sample content.
The recorded instrument is a Yamaha C7 and in this case the intention was to create a Grand Piano multisample that has a unique timbre character. Reading your notes it looks like it works. To me the basic inspiration for that recording project was the sound of the "Will & Grace" sitcom theme, which is really something special.
Cheers

This has been fixed with an updated instrument in Collective v1.0.3 which is currently available from the Waveform bundle installer (content-only installers coming soon).
