Hi all, anyone know how to turn off oscillator tracking. I'm trying to modulate a poly synth oscillator using another oscillator and the audio to modulation convertor. So I'm trying to make a classic DX7 patch called Sand Storm (like the sound used by Brian Eno for the Dune Film soundtrack. Its an oscillator frequency modulated by a noise waveform . Anyway, if the modulator tracks to midi it doesn't work. I need the noise to be a waveform , not just white noise. This way i can tune the noise and get the sound just right. I'm using MTWF 17.wav as the modulator. But i don't want it to track to midi along with the poly synth wave. On its own an mono oscillator doesn't track but as soon as you put it into a poly synth module it has to receive an event and that makes it track too. Any tips welcome folks.

There is no direct key tracking parameter yet in the osc, but just thinking loud maybe you could use a key -> modulation converter and route that to the osc's pitch parameter and set it up in such a way that the modulation is the exact negative of the standard key tracking so that together it gives pitch 0 all the time.

I usually use also the key ranger module before oscillator to do this,
event in > note key ranger(min key C4 max key C4 /or as you prefer) > oscillator.

Good idea, even more simple :tu:

Excellent, Yes, I figured out the note key ranger shortly after I asked the question and was too annoyed with myself to come back here for a couple of weeks. Bit embarrassed I asked :dog: . So sorry about that folks. It was just a case of 'look and ye shall find' :dog:

Thanks for those replies anyway  :)
