Piano Roll Note Color Chord/Scale

Is there an option to tint with color each chord/base and scale notes in the piano roll or do they all stay black and grey along the different chords in the progression ?

No, there's no option to do that.

As chico.co.uk says, there's currently no option to do that but it is on our list of things to look in to.

So in RC the background colors are: light green is the chord root, dark green chord notes, light grey scale notes, dark grey out or passing note.
The midi notes will be green for chord note, blue scale and red out/passing, like this :
