I think this may have broken something with MIDI ports again, but it will crash to desktop before allowing you to do anything in Waveform. I've sent my crashlogs to support again.

Yep, confirmed it's returned to crashes at launch triggered by certain midi devices. (After 2-3 crashes, it disables the devices and opens without crashing).

I've confirmed it's back in 8.0.26, can you roll back to the previous version for now?

I didn't have much issue until this last update, but I do now. Probably due to the new Windows "Creators" (it's a damned service pack) update.
My MPK Mini II, and Mio USB interfaces crash Waveform immediately if the MIDI outs are enabled. My Focusrite USB 2i4 seems ok on the MIDI end, so it's probably something to do with external USB to MIDI.
I'm on Windows 10, and I've tried all my windows tricks of uninstalling/reinstalling/disabling.
I'm not bent too outta shape, but I also don't remember where to find the log file. I'll keep searching, but a reminder of the log file location might be appreciated in this thread.
I've been rolling with the punches, but this got me in the kisser; and I want to help it get fixed.

Mine is here:
C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\Tracktion 4\Temporary
Not sure why the folder is called Tracktion 4, but it is. Might not be for you.

Surely there must be consensus by now...

The log file has changed places in Waveform, it's now in "C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Tracktion\Waveform\Temporary\Waveform8Log.txt".pough wrote:Mine is here:

The easiest way to find it is by opening Waveform and pressing "Help" -> "Show the Waveform log file".
