Yes like Jens said about the midi editor.
As for the scroll, seems i was absolutely useless yesterday for some reason and could not type clearly, hope this helps...
Click on options lower left panel
Go to scroll behaviour
Scroll during playback is ticked
Untick it
Restart tracktion
Scroll diring playback os now ticked again
It may not be noticable to anybody else because it seems that nobody using tracktion chops beats on the timeline (as can be seen by people telling me tracktion isnt for me because i pointed out a big weakness) but a very common way to edit clips in other hosts (sorry if this hurts anybodies feelings) is to loop a section while it plays and slice and move parts of the clip in to new arrangements, in fact it is one of the most common techniques used in dance music nowadays.
This technique can not be done while scroll during play is ticked because the screen follows the play cursor, and the play cursor is also the edit cursor so you have to stop play to do an edit, but as it turns out it doesnt matter because nobody ever wanted to do this in tracktion and it obviously isnt for me even though i have been buying it since v1.

Are you loading a different Edit when restarting? This setting is saved with the Edit and defaults to on so if you open an Edit where it is on or start a new one it will be turned on in this Edit.bungle wrote: Click on options lower left panel

Yeah, right, we want T1 back again. Five years ago Tracktion was abandonware and had been for several years. On here, we're glad it was rescued. What we don't appreciate is those that take the bull-in-a-china-shop approach and come on here shouting and badmouthing the software and TSC. It's changed and grown a lot since its rising from the grave.bungle wrote:Don't worry, I'm out of here, its obvious you and your users want no change
There will always be teething problems, but TSC are proactive and do what they can to fix problems. Sometimes fixes take time. There are thousand of different set-ups out there; assorted computers, operating systems, audio interfaces, user experience, etc, etc.
I've posted on here for many years and try to help when I can. If someone's post hasn't been answered within a couple of days, I'll see what I can find out for them, but I feel less inclined to be helpful towards those shouting the odds. A spoonful of sugar helps things along greatly. I've found the same when I have problems with purchases or services; those that work in customer services have 100% preference for those who complain politely.
[W10-64, T5/6/7/W8/9/10/11/12/13, 32(to W8)&64 all, Spike],[W7-32, T5/6/7/W8, Gina16] everything underused.

*sigh*
One of the devs replies to your questions, despite you jumping in with both feet, like a twat, and you continue to act like a twat. One of "the most common techniques" when making dance music is to cutup a clip on the timeline, while it plays, and manually move the clips around, using the tools in the DAW? hmmm ... debatable
You're leaving? Bye, Felicia.

You appear to have solely come on here to slag off Tracktion as opposed to offering anything positive. This is normally known as trolling.bungle wrote:You dont even care about the forum rules do you ?

You do that by creating/saving a Project-template which is set up exactly as you want Tracktion to start up for a fresh project.bungle wrote:So how do i default it to off ?

No I came on here to point out weaknesses of Traction currently as it stands, I have been using it since v1 and the only trolls around here are the fools that the Tracktion mods are allowing to swear sexual insults at people on an open public forum.profwesson wrote:You appear to have solely come on here to slag off Tracktion as opposed to offering anything positive. To the old and new forum users Tracktion/Waveform isn't Reaper . Period. It probably has some features that Reaper doesn't have and vice versa. Alot of old school folks/users hopped over to Reaper during the Mackie Tracktion 3 abandoned ware fiasco . So ....... Reaper does alot of stuff and is the MOST stable of VST hosts , so there is alot of frustration for someone to want to come back and realize it's not what you've been currently using for the last 10yrs ... Tracktion/Waveform is Not Reaper ....Moral or story.

Personally, I don't spend my life telling other people I don't like software they're using / writing, ad nauseam. I just get on with doing things I like doing.
YMMV.

No you spend your time swearing on public forums, well done, you must make your family and friends so proud.chico.co.uk wrote:Personally, I don't spend my life telling other people I don't like software they're using / writing, ad nauseam. I just get on with doing things I like doing.

There is literally nothing that Tracktion can do other than the project screen (Which i never even liked) that Reaper can't do, but hey silly me for installing the demo and trying to use a host that i was using since V1 and is now on V8 and should be updated somewhat, silly me for pointing out that some things could be done better, silly me for wanting to try something else instead of every other host, but good for you that you dont need any feature ever in Tracktion and it is finished and perfect, and you never ever ever have to go on the forum and ask for a feature it does not have, you better not because it may be in another host and you simply can not do that.fedexnman wrote:To the old and new forum users Tracktion/Waveform isn't Reaper . Oh and well done for pointing out exactly how much you are all going to hate any new users (Actually in this case old user that has probably been using it longer than any of you) who think that some things could be done better.
But best of all, well done for saving me the upgrade fee, Tracktion will not get a single penny more out of me until some of this behaviour (telling prospective customers to f**k off, seriously ?) is dealt with and the place is a bit more professional.
