Did you check out Instagram? There's a straight shot of the screen on the uhe Instagram that shows everything clearly.

Just to answer my own question, there will be a public beta in a few weeks according to Urs in one of the videos. Sounds like they just have to fine tune the modulation ranges and maybe figure out the RePro-1 import. So psyched...

Actually not RePro-1 import, but sysex import from Prophet 5. ;)

I actually thought both. You'd know better than I would though. Thanks!

Urs and co please post more demos and screenshots!

I'm not sure RePro-1 patch import would work, though. Modulation is different, parameter ranges completely different, and Jaws is not there in the 5...

Plus it is just so easy to program sounds in Re-Pro1 and 5 will be the same way

True. I'm agreeing with you. I was excited and misunderstood. I err frequently.

I lost my voice round about noon, somewhere in the middle of the SonicState video.

The day was crazy. There's a good vibe, but getting up at 5:30am was taxing.

Or is that what that new module is doing?

JAWS needs more CPU than the filter. It's okay for an effect, but it's a showstopper per voice. Also, in Repro-1 you can put ResQ before JAWS and create all sorts of good timbres. We would have to have ResQ and JAWS per voice. It's overkill.

Hive's distortion on the other hand has that tilt filter (tone) which lets one shape the timbre of the distortion nicely, and it uses a fraction of JAWS CPU. In other words, no, it's ot JAWS, but it does the trick. While not everyone agrees, I still believe that poly synths have a different set of sonic requirements than mono synths. Whie mono synths may cater for extreme sounds, poly synths require to be more defined. Hence, I think JAWS is very well suited for a mono synths, but does not really make much sense in a poly environment.

Got ya.
Thanks.
its going to be a long next 2/3 months waiting on repro-5 and zebra 2.8 :-)

I am SO stoked for Zebra 2.8! I've said this before - while it's not rational, I feel like the GUI of zebra keeps me from using it as often as I could/should. This new skin looks like a MASSIVE improvement for me, both in looks and functionality (better wave/mod editors). I am very excited!

Also, as I repro owner, I'm looking forward to the "upgrade" to get the repro poly.

THINGS ARE LOOKING UP IN U-HE LAND!

Thanks Urs & co.!

Why per voice distortion is post-amp not pre-amp?

Deep answer: I don't know.

Superficial answer (possibly valid): The amp is processed together with filter, because only that way could we get the right sound for the feedback Repro-1 (Diva as well). It isn't visible on the UI just yet, but Repro-5 has the same feedback option. In order to make the distortion pre-amp it would have to be processed with the filter as well. This however is just that tiny bit too much - maybe just for now, maybe because, hmmm, CPU.

I'm excited about this Repro5. I did not anticipate the voice panning, that should be really nice. It will be interesting to see how inexpensive/expensive or free the update will be for existing Repro-1 owners. Perhaps being overly optimistic, my spidey-senses are telling me it might be free.

I agree. Also, awesome video and I'm really excited about the public beta. BTW: One of the most popular uses of the, mostly failed at the time, Arp Avatar was the hex fuzz that piped the individual string pickups through their own distortion unit. It's definitely nice to have distortion per voice in a polyphonic synth.
