Thanks for the informative video!
We'll take a look at those right away.
I had a quick go at looking in to the black graphical glitches but couldn't quite find the right way to replicate it. Would it be possible to upload the .tracktionedit file you used in the video so I can see if it's anything specific to that arrangement?
Cheers!

What screen resolution is that? It looks quite small ...

I was just capturing a window, not the whole screen. I kept it small enough to see what was going on and keep the file size down.
I'll upload a .tracktionedit file later this evening. I've had the same effect appear in a number of projects over the past couple of years.

There doesn't appear to be any need to upload a .tracktionedit. I have just discovered that the graphical errors occur with every clip that is inside a clip group. It is completely reproducible. Just create a new clip, drag out from its title bar to create a linked copy. Zoom out.
While I'm here, could I request an option that says "Always make new clips [n] bars long". I really hate the way it does it now, where it gives a random size based on how zoomed out you are. I pretty much always want new clips to be 2 bars longs to start with, so I'd be happy with an "Always make new clips 2 bars long" option.

If the devs can't reproduce it from your instructions and haven't seen it happen, it may be something unique to your set-up. If they can't try it with one of your .tracktionedit files, they've got no chance, since they don't have access to your computer. I assume it's happened on more than one machine.fromwithin wrote:There doesn't appear to be any need to upload a .tracktionedit.

I've tried it on three completely different machines with the same result. I didn't have the edit shown in the video on the machine I was using when I posted that message. But okay, I've attached a new edit that just contains some linked clips.

You could email it to them if you don't want others to see your work. Hope they can help.

No worries, I just thought it might be relevant, perhaps it happened because waveform doesn't deal with low res screens as well as it should do. But it sounds like this happens for your at higher resolutions too, right?fromwithin wrote:I was just capturing a window, not the whole screen. Thanks everyone, the black artefacts will be fixed in the next release (8.0.28).
The MIDI editing problems are a bit more involved though so may have to wait a little bit I'm afraid.
