1)We have no plans to break existing installs of Daisy for Alter/Ego, just no guarantee it will work in chipspeech in the future.

2)The license agreement you acknowledged by installing the original still stands, there's no way we can go back in time and change that.
There are quite a few major label releases in the pipes using that voice bank, including one released today (which was done a long time ago if I understand) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yLe6fzk0yKY
It would be unfair to the hard work of those artists to ban its usage from now on.

3)We just gave you a NEW FREE voice (Bones) and a great English female voice is coming (NATA) (price TBA).

Sforzatron is a very nice new Mellotron avatar. And this little demo gives it an excellent respect:

https://soundcloud.com/chipsounds/sforzatron-demo-pads

I'm myself currently finishing my own avatar of the Mellotron, with the same samples from Taijiguy, and which is named BW-Tron. The look is of course totally different, even if the features go also on a somewhat parallel path, and I have preferred to embed the samples in a unique SF2 file. I like a lot the variety of the things in the music market, even on common footprints. From a same starting point different ideas can emerge without any conflict nor actual competition (the world can be seen another way than by competitions). By the way it is a bit a shame that Redtron is not updated to improve its GUI, because it is for years a wonderful instrument, and we have the evidence seeing that it is very used. Sforzando is an excellent free generalist product that I use quite frequently for my SFZ files and this new Sforzatron is a very good new companion to it in the world of SFZ based instruments.

It is also an excellent augur for the close future to see that currently there is an appeal from the developers to the very old vintage instruments. The music is a perpetual evolution, but the reuse of very old instruments (even if it is by samples) in the most modern music shows that the music itself is a universal language, not only geographically but also along the time...

Thanks! We had this bank done a long time ago and waited for an excuse to release it. Taijiguy is indeed a very cool fella. (its the second time we use his samples, the previous time was in the free sounds for ARIA back in December 2012)

The world can never have too many Mellotrons as far as I'm concerned :)

If some here are interested (even you, David), recently I discovered a website that I didn't knew yet. It is a website which tries to take a comprehensive inventory of all the albums which use a Mellotron, from the beginning to... today.

And what I can say is that I have found exceptional gems even in the most recent production (by checking in Youtube some albums I didn't know yet).

For those who could think that the Mellotron is somewhat forgotten in the musical production of today... you're going to be actually stunned!

It is ordered by the name of the musicians/bands. Here is this website:

A huge source of inspiration...

:wheee: May already?

We are working on so many chipsynths at once (7 right now) (on top of updates to chipcrusher and chipspeech), sorry this is taking too long.

Note chipsynth FC will be available as either a softsynth or a hardware kit (with patch compatibility), so my crazy experiments take more time than expected.
This week I'm finish up some some crazy modulation code in order to finish some presets to work on a video for the concept.

Status update!! We've just rolled out updates of chipsounds and chipspeech for the Native Instruments NKS Standard with a bunch of new presets (in chipspeech's case) and 'fun parameters' pre-mapped.

Users of Maschine and Komplete Kontrol should definitely give the demo a spin!
(oh and if you use code NKSREADYCHIP50 in checkout you get each at 50% off for a limited time).

Here's a non pretentious (I hope) walk-though of the Komplete Kontrol integration from my humble home studio:

Of course our in dev chipsynth line will ship with NKS integration on day one.
Back at it!

Hi David,

Love Daisy. Do you have any advice on "preserving her". I was actually a bit surprised to read the post above, I was definitely interested in seeing the concept behind her developed much further - there's a surprising void in the market for synthesized singing voices that can actually sing English words, and Daisy was so charming I thought for sure this would be a lucrative enough direction for you (and your team?) to persue.

Thanks for creating an awesome product. If you could let me know how to put her in a time capsule so I won't lose her (I have a project that's important to me that I've included her in and would like to preserve continuity) that would be wonderful!

Thanks again
