Thanks strogon14 it's good to see I'm not the only one with this. I have converted to Linux, because I have seen Tracktion as an alternative, to edit audio like on Windows or OSX, without workarounds.

FWIW, I have used obxd, luftikus, dexed and tunefish4 without any problem.halon wrote:Hi,
There is a problem, that since T6 some vst plugins crashing the whole gui (the gui is not responding), while the audio is still working. The plugins are for example Cumulus, and all the TAL plugin ports from disthro. Gvst plugins and oxevst are fine, but obxd, luftikus, dexed and tunefish4 are not working. In previous versions (t4 & 5) and other hosts they were ok. I am running Tracktion 6.3.1 on an Ubuntu 14.04 system.

I know I'm late to the party and there is now a T7, so maybe bugs and FRs for T6 are not even accepted anymore. I've had Tracktion for about a year but never had time to tinker with it. I am now trying to catch up with the lost time... Anyway, here is a list of improvements I would like to see:
1) Renaming plugins inside racks.
Currently, we can only use text widgets inside the rack to identify plugins. It works, but they take up their own space and only work to a certain extent. They're fine when everything is arranged in its own neat row/line. But what if the arrangement is more irregular? Besides, consider this situation:

Quite a mess! Which is which?
2) Renaming step clip channels in place.
Currently, we select a channel and rename it... down there in the bottom area. Naming/renaming all the channels in a 12-channel track becomes even more tedious than it has to be. I wish I could right-click the channel or, even better, just double-click its name to change it.
3) This!:
4) And this issue of mine:
http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 2&t=461265
Now this is a tough one since fellow member forum members were all against me, but I would like to point out to Tracktion developers that, in its current state, the internal sampler is useless to me. How can I achieve what I want? Not possible. I am forced to use external samplers, always through Carla and keep adding up to CPU use. Besides, accessing the GUI in anything hosted inside Carla is one extra step farther away and posts two windows in the way of my view: that of Carla and that of the plugin. Visualizing the internal sampler inside the rack works very well, but I can't use it. The internal sampler has a very suitable "Ignore release" option already, but it's too bad "Ignore release" is ignored at the end of loops.
5) FR for T7: bring back the old GUI with themes. That one dark theme is depressing, and I see people are complaining about problems with fonts. Geez, why does EVERY DAW have to look dark and mean like out of a Ridley Scott movie? Tracktion was the one nice exception, now it's joined the infamous club.
Thank you for listening.

All of them, but LV2 support is particularly important.strogon14 wrote:1. Can we have LV2 support on Linux? Pwetty PLEASE!
2. Separate threads for bugs and feature requests would make it much easier to see if a bug was already reported.
3. Or even better: a public bug tracker, where we could search for bugs, add comments and follow their status.

I forgot to mention something... The "Undo" action on rack drag-and-drop operations (inside the racks or not) causes T6 to crash almost every time.
When relaunching, sometimes it won't launch because it's still running in background and has to be killed before it's relaunched. Sometimes, it launches but then it freezes and I have to kill it, then kill jackdbus, restart jackd, and finally launch Tracktion.
Sometimes, Tracktion will freeze instead of crashing. It seems to happen more often when I try to save a rack as a preset.

In the meantime I have made a fresh install, this time Ubuntu 16.04. After the first load of a plugin it shows up and it is tweakable! But on the second opening of a problematic plugin the whole gui just hangs.
Maybe it has something to do with the graphics driver? It is embedded Intel (G2020), the driver is stock i915.
After all, it is not that bad, U-he plugs are working rock solid, Oxe, Gvst, Tracktion plugs too. Sometimes less is more.

I'm posting at the T6 FR section because it's the one I have...
Although we can rename step clips, I don't see how that is useful. It would be nice if that name were displayed at the top of the clip when it's not selected. When the clip is selected, the name would have to be replaced with the two dragging squares, but when not selected, its name displayed at the top would be useful for when I'm looking at the larger picture, so I can more easily spot whatever specific clip I may be looking for.
Thank you.

Is there a more recent plugin incompatibility list than the one that had it's last post in 2014? I can't get T6 to recognize the Eventide 2016 Stereo Room reverb plugin, and I've activated it with iLok.

I would like to see a feature that allows you to swipe more than one track at a time in a Comp group. Or, perhaps an option to gang separate tracks together so they can be swiped like a mono track.
This would allow multi-source instruments (stereo mics plus direct signal, for example) to be swiped as easily as mono tracks.
I would use that a lot.

FR : Drum Racks Drum Racks Drum Racks ..... Waveform and Collective is great an all but we need a dedicated integrated Drum Rack sampler ... Collective is more synth style sampler even though you can load drum samples in it ....

You can already do this - select multiple clips and then choose 'create comp' from the properties panel - swipe awaysworkshop wrote:I would like to see a feature that allows you to swipe more than one track at a time in a Comp group.
